About the Author

Leonie Campbell was born on the tropical island of Singapore in 1967 and spent her early childhood years growing up in the dusty, remote mining townships in the Pilbara of Western Australia, rich in mineral wealth.
Leonie holds a Diploma in Information Technology and works as a Senior Subsurface Analyst for a large oil and gas company in Perth, Australia. Leonie began writing Black Pearl in her early mining career and chose Broome for the setting, bringing together all the places she had visited during her time working and playing in the Pilbara.
There are a number of other novels bubbling away in the creative juices, ready to be written in the near future; - an Antarctic thriller is next.
Leonie's interests include gardening, traveling and international Futures trading. Leonie has a passion for Friesian horses and plans on developing a small stud farm close to the city of Perth where she currently lives with her daughter, two cats and spaniel.
