Overview

When I was six months old, I dropped from the sky -- the lone survivor of a deadly Japanese plane crash. The newspapers named me Heaven. I was adopted by a wealthy family in Tokyo, pampered, and protected. For nineteen years, I thought I was lucky.
I'm learning how wrong I was.

I thoroughly enjoyed this addition to the Samurai Girl series. I thought a few parts of it weren't quite as strong as 'Book of Shadow,' but that's probably because 'Shadow' is my favorite of these. Heaven is really coming along nicely in this book...her skills are toning her into a strong young woman. And don't we all love to see a sheltered little rich girl get off her pampered butt and learn to beat people up? Yes! Fun times. So, this book had some fun fight scenes but also some good character development. Nicely done all around!

Oh, can things get any worse for Heaven? She keeps having fights with the few friends she has. Karen turned out to be a royal b****, as I suspected she would. Heaven can be really whinny and immature sometimes, but I think for the most part she's in the right. Cheryl has some very irritating parts in this book - I liked her character much more in books one and two. I really enjoyed this, however, and found the action to be fun and fast-paced (again, I read the whole book in two days). Heaven working at the club Vibe was also an interesting difference from the first two books - though she certainly isn't a very good drunk!

This book I enjoyed very much and we can see that Hiro maybe does have feelings for Heaven but it is still hard to tell by his actions and, Karen wow she sure is scary now and very JEALOUS! I really admire Heaven for not fighting back or something at times because of how Karen treats her.
