Anything to do with Coyote Ridge excites me, I love catching up with the Walkers wether it be one of the brothers or cousins that have come back to the family brood and let me tell you Rex did not disappoint it was everything I have come to expect from Nicole Edwards and more. This book took over I couldn’t put it down so be warned don’t start reading Rex if you don’t have time to finish it, I was up half the night I just kept thinking just one more chapter then sleep well that was never going to happen because once I got into Rex and Jack’s story I needed to know how it ended I needed to know if Jack became the adult I knew he has inside him and I needed to know if Rex finally gave in to the feelings he was having because at the start of this book I was convinced he was hell bent on living a life alone. This book is not just a love story it’s a journey about two people learning about themselves as they learn about each other, it’s full of emotions, it’s about family and bonds and it’s beautifully written. The Walkers will always protect what’s there’s and Rex is no different but a lot of this book is Rex learning what it means to be a Walker and excepting help from family with no strings attached. Can’t wait to see where we are taken with this extended Walker family.

As with many books I have read by Nicole Edwards, Rex was hot and the scenes absolutely sizzled. Anything to do with Coyote Ridge and by extension the Walkers, I will happily read and it was great to see a few cameo appearances from my favourite family. I love that no matter how distant a Walker relationship is, they will dive in a support one another. What happens when two strangers hook up for a good time? Can they make something out of a one night stand? Will it lead to decisions that will change their lives or will they crash and burn? Rex was an emotional roller coaster of a read as Rex struggled to come to terms with his past although Jack frustrated me at times as he typically runs when things get tough and he struggles to make decisions. However this book had drama, angst, romance, humour and love and for me ticked all the boxes. I really loved Rex Sharpe and the man who finally got to him Jack Cunningham. There was just something about these two together that made me melt, although at times my heart just about broke for Rex and Jack. . This is a story that will suck you in and get to you in a way that only a Nicole Edwards book can do and in my humble opinion she is one of the best in the MM genres that I have read over the last few years.

3.5 stars for - Rex - book six in the Walkers of Coyote Ridge series by Nicole Edwards. This book can be read as a complete standalone but the series is quite good and I highly recommend reading them all if you have the chance. This is a MM romance so reader discretion is advised. Rex Sharpe had a horrible childhood that left deep scars. Casual hook-ups have been the norm for him never wanting anything too meaningful was always what he went for. Living in Coyote Ridge all his life has left him with the longing to turn his family home into a bed and breakfast especially now that his cousin - Travis - brought lots of commerce to the area with Alluring Indulgence resort too. What starts as a night hanging out with his cousins enjoying a few drinks ends up changing his world in so many new ways. Jack Cunningham is a runner. Any time things get hard he takes off and chooses to ignore the problem instead of dealing with it head on. This time is no different when he ends up in a little hole in the wall bar drunk out of his mind trying to forget. The gorgeous stranger that helped him back to his room is so appealing it’s making him question everything he wants in a relationship. After all Jack has never been with a man before but Rex is making him question why not... This was a good story full of lots of angst. In my opinion too much time was spent on the push and pull and it was really dragging there towards the end. While this one wasn’t my favorite, I will still continue on with the series for sure.

I adore Nicole Edwards’ Walker family! I can’t get enough of their familial bond and the way they step up for each other no matter the situation. And with her newest release, REX, Edwards branches out a bit further on the Walker family tree with one of the Walker’s cousins and the city boy who may or may not be just who Rex needs to let go of his past and focus on his future. Rex Sharpe is a man whose abusive childhood/teenage years has done a number on, and as Edwards reveals the chain of events that led to the burdens that Rex now carries, I wondered if someone could truly recover from that trauma and hold steadfast to what he’s always wanted to do, which is make something of himself using his family’s land and creating a home away from home for people to make memories, perhaps in this quest also finding a way to heal himself. Jack Cunningham is quite the hot mess when he finds himself in Coyote Ridge in need of assistance due to his drunken state, and I’m more than sure he didn’t expect anything to happen between himself and the sexy cowboy who lent him a hand, but it does, sending this city boy spiraling even further down the rabbit hole, attempting to figure out who the hell he is and what he wants out of life. I have to admit…for a good chunk of the story, I didn’t like Jack; he frustrated the heck out of me, not only because of his runner mentality but also because he didn’t truly know who he was or what he wanted, which more than messed with his head and mine. Don’t get me wrong…I understand Jack not having a handle on his sexuality, especially due to his track record when it came to his past relationships and broken engagements, but the fact that he so easily gave himself to Rex at the beginning of the story but then refused to accept what he felt for Rex or name what was clearly between them didn’t sit well with me; in fact, I expected Jack to run again because that’s been his M.O., even though I hoped he’d finally pull his head out of his rear end and face what he’s always known about himself but never would admit. Things between Rex and Jack aren’t easy; in fact, they’re quite difficult due to a number of unanswered and unacknowledged questions. And for this reason, even though these two hook up at the beginning of the story, any kind of relationship between them is quite the slow burn, and sometimes, I even wondered if it was possible for this cowboy and city boy to make a go of anything more than a sexual release, but I kept reading hoping that Jack would realize whatever he needed to in order to see how could he and Rex could be if he stayed put and never ran again. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Walkers of Coyote Ridge story without the brood of men, women, and children showing up in REX, and because this family has always been close and has always thrown down for each other regardless if those in need wanted it or not, I knew they’d have a say in helping Rex achieve his dream and also find a way to prove to both Rex and Jack that when it comes to love, it’s a risk worth taking, and because they’ve all been through variations of the drama and angst that Rex and Jack are dealing with, I knew if they listened to this family and their sage advice that they’d find their happily ever after even if it took them a little longer than anyone wanted or expected. 4 Poison Apples

Rex and Jack - We've met Rex before in the series. He and his younger brother, Rafe, grew up with a drunk and abusive father. They lost their mother in one of his drunken tirades when they were young. Since her death, Rex made sure that he protected Rafe from his father in any way he could. Until the night it all ended. When he was old enough, Rafe left Coyote Ridge behind and never look back. Since then, Rex has had the dream of turning the old house they lived in, with all the terrible memories, into a bed and breakfast. Between procrastinating and not enough money, it's taking longer than Rex had planned. Jack Cunningham is a comic book writer and illustrator. He returns home from a writing session with his co writer to find his fiancé in his bed with someone else. Jack doesn't like confrontation. so he decides to drive away from Austin and finds himself in Coyote Ridge. A stop at the local bar in town, Moonshiners, all he wanted was a drink to help clear his head and time to decide what he was going to do and go from there. Rex had been watching Jack the minute he walked into the bar. Jack had a little too much to drink and Rex wasn't about to let him drive back to the hotel. This book had a lot of up and down emotions. From the beginning, you felt the hurt and pain Rex and Rafe went through and the anger and hate that Jack felt. There were times where I wanted to yell at both of them to just get over it and move on. LOL. I love the about Nicole's books. The emotions are what brings the characters to life. I am so happy to finally get another Coyote Ridge book. it's been awhile and it was nice to see the crossover of characters that I've missed from other series and definitely worth the wait. Loved it!

Just when you thought you knew everything going on in Coyote Ridge... “Rex” by Nicole Edwards, is book 6 in the “Walkers of Coyote Ridge” series. This book was a bit of a surprise for me since it really didn’t follow the same type of path the other books do, but I was OK with that. This is a M/M romance and can be read as a stand alone, but I would not recommend it. You get so much more out of this story, and all Nicole Edwards books, if you read them in order. We start with meeting Rex as a child and begin to learn about what a rough childhood he had, but, we only get a little view. The more you read, the more you’ll learn. Move forward 14 years and the bigger story really begins. Now we meet Jack, as he is about to have his life changed in a way he never expected. Due to this change, he begins questioning many things about himself. These are two men who have a lot to work out to become the men the are meant to be. Of course at this point you are hoping Jack and Rex meet, because you realize with all the “stuff” going on in their lives they “need” to connect, so they can help each other figure things out. What you don’t expect, is how it will help change them and what they thought they knew about themselves. Now of course, being set in Coyote Ridge, you know that the Walkers will be involved with the story and each time one says or does something, you smile, just because you love them and this series so much. I don’t want to give away any of this story, but I do think this book was a bit different. Probably because we don’t know much about Rex before this, so it did take me a bit longer to get into the story, but don’t let that stop you from reading this book. The book does not end on a cliffhanger but it does seem to introduce a story line you know is coming next, so now I am waiting with bated breath. Rafe, I want, no, NEED to know your story.

I don't know what it is about Coyote Ridge, but every time there is a new story I can't wait to get my hands on it. This book was no exception. I absolutely loved Rex and Jack. Rex's dream to was open up a B&B in the house he grew up in and replace the bad memories that still haunted him. He had put it off for years and now with the help of his family, his dream was about to become a reality. The only things missing in his life were his brother and someone special to share it with. When he crosses paths with Jack, the last thing he expected was to fall so hard for him. Jack's whole world changed the night he came home early to find his fiance in bed with another man. While he wasn't truly broken up about it, he couldn't figure out what was wrong with him. Why does he keep having failed relationships? When he leaves town to try and get his thoughts in order he didn't expect to find the one thing he had been missing. I loved Jack & Rex's story. It wasn't cut and dry and they both had issues that they had to work through in order to have their HEA. They both had to overcome their past and admit what they were truly feeling, to make themselves vulnerable. I loved "watching" their relationship take shape and could help but to keep turning the pages. I absolutely adored the ending and I am keeping my fingers crossed that we will get Rafe's book soon!!

This is book #6, in The Walkers of Coyote Ridge series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For reader understanding, and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading this sexy series in order. Rex has a history with the home that he wants to make a future in. He has known since his youth he would run a B & B in his historic home. If he can get past the nightmares, he might be able to find a little magic there too. Jack has never really been curious. Until he is driven to try something new by an awareness he does not have until Rex. Once he gets a taste however, there is only craving. Such a sexy and yet very sweet story. The heat between these two is just sizzling right along as you read. I love this series and it is so nice to visit back with some of our favorites. ***This ARC copy was given in exchange for an honest review.

"As he watched him walk away, Rex realized just how hungry he was. But it damn sure wasn't for food." Can we just take a moment to appreciate that cover? Sigh. Drool. Okay, now let's talk about this story. I loved it. Though, I must confess that even though the author warned me in the synopsis that Jack has a tendency to run from his problems, I still found myself frustrated with him. Yes, he got an earful from me on more than one occasion, but he did eventually win me over. Rex had me from the get-go. I fell for him immediately and never wavered in my feelings for him. I can't resist broken characters and after going through hell with him he earned my loyalty. I yearned for him to find a man that deserved him and was worthy of the love he had to give. I wasn't so sure that 'city boy' fit that description, especially when he pissed me and Rex off repeatedly. But, I was invested and kept turning those pages with my crossed finger. I've been a Nicole Edwards fan for years and she never fails to impress me with her ability to touch my emotions with her stories. I feel the friend and family support strongly in this series and really enjoy the amazing support characters. I'm especially excited about where she's going next after reading this one. Rex's painful past revealed secrets and sorrow that has me beside myself to dig deeper in the next installment. And while I'm at it, I must confess I can't wait to see what that cover will look like. The line forms here...

I really enjoyed Rex and Jack's story despite wanting to knock their heads together on occasion and wanting to seriously shake Jack! As always, Nicole gives us two strong, real, lovable characters who are not perfect, because nobody is. These two men are both also carrying some serious baggage. But neither one of these sexy men saw the other one coming and what ensues is a battle of wills that takes them on quite the hot yet angsty ride. It took a lot for Rex to trust Jack and a lot for Jack to accept who he really was deep down and exactly what was happening between them. Only after they truly open their hearts, souls and minds, are they able to see the future in each other and let me tell you, that is worth dealing with all the denial and angst.

I think this is the first Nicole Edwards book that I've ever struggled with at the beginning. I throughly enjoyed it after the first few chapters but I did find Jack a little distracting at the start. He's got a particular way about him that took me awhile to get used too. The story develops at quite a slow pace which is refreshing as sometimes the whole insta-love thing wears a bit thin. Jack had a lot of self discovery to do and although he didn't always take the heathy route I liked that it wasn't easy, it felt very real. Rex was very patient with him, he's got that solid, steady feel about him and I think that Jack needed someone to ground him and take control when needed. I did find the lack of communication abit frustrating at times, there was a few shouting at the book moments when I wanted them to get their s##t together! The naughty moments certainly made up for those times though, they had a really hot connection and the passion was fun to read. I loved the little cameos from the Walker clan, was nice to see them for a few pages.
