Jen is a member of the Society of American Baseball Research (SABR), Springfield Poets & Writers, Sisters in Crime and the National Writers Union (NWU).

We are off to the races, as Ms. Estes paints a knowledgeable picture of the baseball world that she obviously loves. Cat is thrown in the middle of a horrifying scene, and she has to quickly develop her heroine and investigative skills to stop a complex plot that is both wicked and believable. Jen Estes has hit it out of the park with her first mystery!

Jen Estes' writing is great. If I can't get into a book within the first 50 pages, I put it down. But she had me right from the start...I give DOUBLE PLAY a thumbs up and can't wait for the next one in the series to come out.

What a great novel that includes mystery, a bit of romance and sports. All of the characters were realistic and believable. I really liked Cat who is a sports writer who travels all over to find a story and finds trouble along the way. I am not a baseball fanatic but the book taught me a little about the sport. There were twists and turns that kept me engaged and I finished the book rather quickly.

Cat is a go-getter in the baseball world, as you learn a little bit about her past history with baseball...Combine them all and you've got a fast-paced story that takes several twists and turns before we finally not only discover "whodunnit", but the full extent of the crime itself.
