In this tender tribute to friendship, Zweibel, one of the original writers on Saturday Night Live, re-creates his relationship with the late, great Gilda Radner. Appropriately enough, Zweibel uses only alternating lines of dialogue without a he said or she said in the entire book. You have to stay on your toes at first to figure out who's saying what, but pretty soon it's clear: Gilda's the one who wants to take their relationship slowly, and Zweibel's the one who looks like Mr. Potato Head. They never do get around to making love but, instead, have a best-friendship that lasts until Gilda's death from ovarian cancer. Both text and accompanying line drawings are small and spare and touching and funny. Like Gilda.
