CHAPTER 1

Once upon a time there was a little boy who was always so busy playing he never wanted to stop and go to bed.

It seemed as though every time he was having the most fun his mother would call, "Bed time, Derek! It is time to take your bath."

Sometimes he would get so upset he would start to cry.

So one night when Derek didn't want to go to bed, his mother said, "Don't cry Derek. Tonight I will put a ticket under your pillow and, if you hurry to sleep, you can catch the train that goes to By-Lo-Land."

On the other side of the gates you will see a wide street with trees and little shops on both sides.

At the end of the street are a sandy beach and a beautiful blue lake. I suppose you will want to run right down to the water, but first I think you should visit the shops, because they are just for children and everything in them is FREE.
