Really enjoyed this book! This was a great read for this time of the year. The story was fast-paced and stayed interesting. I highly recommend it for children of all ages. It's a book that parents can read to their children and one that older children can enjoy alone. I felt it was a unique read that captivated the reader and left them glued to the page.

Every Young Girl Will Want To Be Celia! Young Celia Ashleigh is an over-confident and under-trained shapeshifter, impatient for adventure and a chance to prove herself as a future Crown Deputy of England. When her father is unavailable to help young werewolf Remy Broussard save his sister’s life, Celia stows away on the ship to France, certain she can do the job herself with no assistance from anyone. She definitely finds adventure, including a shipwreck, gypsies, and a somewhat magic horse. Celia also learns a valuable lesson along the way when she realizes success often means accepting help from others. Celia And The Wolf is a fast-paced story with non-stop action. Young girls will want to be Celia, and they’ll want Remy, Radilu and Crumpet as forever friends. This book is perfect for middle grade readers, but I enjoyed it immensely as a young-at-heart adult reader.

It’s England, 1806, the Napoleonic era. Fourteen year old Celia is a shapeshifter (a family trait) and apprentice spy eager to put her new found skills to the test. When Remy Broussard comes seeking help from her absent father she seizes the opportunity for adventure. Remy, and his younger sister, are werewolves hunted by the evil Guardian of La Cluse, who has kidnapped the young girl. But Celia’s is soon in great danger herself and her courage and ability is tested to the limit. Their mission becomes increasingly perilous until Celia’s very life is in danger. This first instalment in the Shapeshifter Journals by Donna Maloy is a rollicking Middle Grade/Young Adult adventure with a feisty heroine at its heart. It’s a brilliant start to a series and I look forward to more.
