To say I was looking forward to reading Chasing Abby is a HUGE understatement. From the moment Cassia announced she was writing it, I have been waiting (not so patiently) to see where Abby’s life had taken her and to find out whether or not Abby, Claire and Chris would finally be reunited. Even now, 5 days post Chasing Abby, my emotions are overwhelmed with all this story made me feel.  When I first fell in love with these characters, I had no way of knowing the secret that intrigued me to meet Claire and eventually Chris, would take me on such an emotional journey. It was worth every moment of frustration, every aww, every laugh, every smile and certainly every tear that I cried…and there were lots of tears with this series.  Abby’s life had not been an easy one, per se. With her heart condition, she had her share of obstacles. But along the way she met an incredibly wonderful young man named Caleb. He doted over and cared for her in the way that only a soul mate can do and I was thrilled for Abby to have that kind of love in her life. She needed the support that only Caleb was capable of giving her when she decided to seek out Chris and Claire.  The Jensen’s loved Abby, no doubt. But their own fears and reservations rendered them incapable of fully understanding Abby’s need to meet her birth parents. While I was frustrated with them at times, I can’t imagine what they must have been going through. My heart hurt for them as Abby worked through her thoughts and feelings once the truth about her birthparents was in the open.  I fell in love with Chris Knight in this book. It’s no secret I am an Adam girl. But Chris absolutely stole my heart as I watched him interact with Claire and all of their children. I loved getting to spend time with the Knights and the short visit with the Pollocks was great. Chris and Claire were transparent with Abby at a time when she needed it most and their reactions to her appearance was one of the most emotional reunions I have ever experienced. I don’t want to ruin the experience of this story for anyone so I will leave you with the following thoughts. If you have come this far with the series, you know Cassia Leo writes heartfelt stories – the kind that stick with you long after the final words. Without a doubt, my heart is full and the tears I cry even now are mixed with happiness for where it ended and sadness that the journey is complete.

I've just finished reading this series a second time. I was so emotionally connected to all the characters. I hope the next chapter of Abby's life is soon to come. I wanted to order Ripped which is a continuation of Adam and Lindsay, but there wasn't an ebook for it. Please tell me Cassia, that an ebook is coming. I loved Adam and Lindsay too.

The Shattered Hearts series is the first i have read by Cassia Leo. I absolutely loved the entire series!!!! Book 3, Pieces of You blew me away. Then i got my HEA in book 4. But at no point was i prepared for or could i ever have predicted what would happen in Chasing Abby. Get your tisues and a comfortable place to read and get ready to be wrecked. Phenomenal, yet heart breaking ending to a fantastic series.

If I could have given this book 10 stars I would have. 5 just does not seem enough. I enjoyed all the books in this series but this one brought out every emotion that I had in me. Make sure you have a big box of tissues handy! I hope Cassia will consider continuing with Abby's story.

Abby's life hasn't been easy. She started on day 1 needing heart surgery, not something a new born expects after arriving in this world. On top of this she has been adopted but doesn't find out until she is a teenager. When she turns 18, it is her choice to open a safe deposit box to learn who her birth parents are. Will she open the box? What will she do once she learns the truth?  Chris and Claire Knight have waited 18 years to see Abby in person again. The last time they saw her was for 28 minutes in a conference room. The arrival of Abby fills a void for both of them but how does the older daughter/sister's arrival effect the other kids? What about Caleb, Abby's boyfriend, can they accept his presence in her life? Caleb has been Abby's rock ever since she found out she was adopted. He knows how to take care of her and can sense when she is struggling (her heart is in over drive). They found a love that completes them both. Cassia Leo kept me on the edge as Abby tackles her health issues and the changes in her family. Then Cassia ripped my heart out with something I never saw coming but is the ultimate gesture. I loved stepping back into Chris and Claire's world to see what happened to Abby and if she would find a way back to her biological family. A wonderful journey.

Get the Kleenex ready Hope, Love and Fear: Chasing Abby encompasses all of these emotions in one book. Hope that Chris and Claire get to finally meet the baby they gave up over 18 years ago, but have never forgotten one single day, and that she can forgive them for doing so. Hope that Abby doesn’t choose to forget the parents who raised her. Fear: Brian and Lynette fear losing the child they adopted to their daughter’s biological family. But also the fear for Chris and Claire that Abby doesn’t want them in her life. Abby fearing that she won’t fit in anywhere and won’t disappoint either family. Love: The love a one boy and one girl. The all-encompassing love that one will do anything to make sure that the one you love is happy. Even if that means giving up the one thing you hold dear to you. Cassia Leo did an amazing job of creating an emotional roller-coaster from the beginning to the end. By the end of the book I was a sobbing mess. The love that one person being a parent, spouse, sibling or boyfriend has for the other leaves you breathless in this book. The amount of love, hope and fear is evident in each character and left me completely broken but healed at the same time. Once again I am in awe of this authors ability to make me fall in love with her characters.

I really loved this book with the resolution of baby Abby all grown up. I do not want to give away any spoilers but I,also, cried ugly tears and am afraid this book will haunt me for a long time. Really still did not love Abby's adoptive parents and to be honest I was a staunch team Adam but really he never had a chance in comparison to Chris Knight. Thx,Cassia,to resolution of a wonderful story.

I am so glad I waited to read this series until Chasing Abby came out. I don't know if I could have waited for each book to be published. This series was just plain addicting! The characters are so rich and full that I became invested in their lives from the beginning. I almost didn't want to start Chasing Abby because it was the final book and I just didn't want the series to end. But this book was such an emotional ride and I fell in love with Caleb from his first appearance. You will need a box of tissues because there will be sad and happy tears. Cassia Leo knows how to write a story that will grip your heart.

Often times, you read a book or a series and, at the end, you feel there is something that feels undone. That moment you endured along with the characters. That moment that changes everything. That moment that has you long for a sense of closure of something that you felt was the most pivotal part of a story; so pivotal that without it, the story would cease to exist. Some authors tend to deny us the answers to our questions and the information to ease the aches we still carry; those moments necessary to drown our curiosity in closure. Fortunately, this time, the baby we have all loved and longed for comes to us with her story. A story so necessary and so poignant that you will find yourself feeling every emotion under the sun. Emotions like nostalgia, excitement, nervousness, anticipation, anger, fear, overwhelming love, heartache, complete shock, devastating heartbreak and a need so strong to dive within the pages of the book just so you can stand beside these characters we have come to love so you can defend them, fight for them and with them. This author takes such incredible care in her cultivation of Abby’s journey from birth until her 18th birthday. Those molding moments in her development that shaped her life as an adopted child, leaving her feeling, broken, disconnected and unsatisfied…like the life she was trying to be grateful for was continuing to pass her by unlived. It is only when she meets Caleb that the sanitary bubble she was put in began to become decorated in understanding, love, hope, dreams and a deeper love of life, filling the massive voids that those years leading up to her 18th had plaguing them. But when she discovers that she was adopted, her internal struggles are now mixed with feelings of being unloved and unwanted by the parents that gave her away. Now, here it is, 18 years after we met and fell in love with Chris Knight, and his epic and unwavering love of Claire Nixon is stronger than ever and their life full…well, almost full. The only thing missing is the little girl they had to leave behind. So they live day to day loving each other, building a family, sharing dreams, encouraging each other and their children, all while reserving a place in their life for the little girl who was the very first to own a piece of their heart. She is never out of sight, always in their thoughts, and forever nestled safely in their hearts…until they can meet again. The parallels between Abby and her biological parents, Chris and Claire, is not only evident to the reader, but to characters. She seems to have been blessed with the very best qualities of each of her parents, as well as the fortune of finding her own epic love; that one person who loves you above all things, in spite of all things and because of all things. It is because of this love, understanding, endless support and constant unselfishness that Caleb feels and shows his Abby that she is able to find the strength to hope, to dream, to love, to feel, to embrace, to fight, to aspire, to endure and, ultimately, to live. This book is the epitome of sacrifice, undying love, trust, faith, pain and hope. But most of all, it is a book displaying all the elements of surviving. Whether surviving the consequences of our actions, the results of our choices, the lies we tell, the secrets we keep or the experiences we endure, this book displayed every facet of those realities; those very things that each of us understand because they are all a fixture in life. This author stayed true to her characters and their path. The natural indecision and internal battle of confusion during their adversities was evident, as was their integrity during their triumphs. All the emotional elements were there for each character during every necessary phase of this journey, as characters seeming to appear secondary or supportive take center stage when life calls for them to rise to the occasion. A beautiful story full of consistency, behavioral believability, necessary fears, required sadness, hard decisions and unwavering love…all of which is methodically woven into the very fabric of this story and these characters. Nothing is overlooked, no one is forgotten and no heart is left unaffected in one way or another. Just…. Perfect.
