He tipped his head, looking at me out the corner of his eyes. “I can't undo the exam I turned in, that F will stand.”
I blinked but nodded.
“But here's what I'll offer. You come up with three “banging” topics and outlines for your paper. Fleshed out synopses, Zoe, I want to know about your transitions, your plans for the emotion of the piece, your point of view, all of it.” He started scribbling something on a piece of paper on his desk. “Then you come by my house next Saturday and we'll go over those, I'll help you decide which ones the strongest and what points you want to focus on the most. You plan on spending the day with me.”
I blushed, my voice timid, afraid of the answer. “Would you mind if we did it on Sunday? My squad has practice for Nationals on Saturday.”
He raised an eyebrow at me, but nodded, “Sunday is fine. Wear your uniform.”
I blushed again, afraid to ask this more than the other, my voice squeaking, “What are we going to do?”
He made a steeple with his fingers and looked me over again. “I'm an amateur photographer. If you would be willing I'd like to take your picture.”
