Being a Christian in today's society is extremely difficult. We live in a world that markets happiness, comfort, pleasure, fun, excitement, self-image, and many other things at an extremely rapid rate. In a world of competing pleasures, these things can make obeying God look draining. It can seem like your own pleasure and God's glory are at odds, and one has to be compromised for the other. How miserable of a life is one that begrudgingly submits to God in obedience? It's extremely miserable and only makes God look like a dictator and not the loving father that He is.

The aim of "Choose Joy" is to help people understand that our greatest good isn't found in the world and it's competing pleasures but is only found in God himself who invites us into the greatest joy, deepest pleasure, and rock solid peace by our trusting in Him.

About the Author

Cameron Roy is a recent graduate of Texas Tech University where he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Management. During his time at Texas Tech, Cameron discovered his passion for discipling young men. He is currently attending Denver Seminary pursuing a Masters of Christian Formation and Soul Care. Ultimately Cameron feels called to teach the Bible, train men, and plant churches in his lifetime. For years Cameron strived to obey God for every reason other than building a relationship with Him, and this always left him unsatisfied and wanting more. On a long quest for satisfaction he finally realized, by the grace of God, that everything he’d been searching for could only be found in God. This inspired him to write Choose Joy, so that he could share this message with those who would hear it.
