Overview

After being kidnapped for 10 months, Alexandra comes back to her life with more questions than answers. Why was she kidnapped? Why were her parents kidnapped? What does the symbol on the back of her neck mean? As the kidnappings continue, Alexandra has to work with FBI agents Nathan and Jedikiah to get to the bottom of the mystery. Magic portals start opening up around town that leave the FBI and Alexandra perplexed. When Nathan disappears into one of those portals, Jedikiah and Alexandra try to follow him but end up in a magical realm where they meet the Tirayel, people with gifts, and the Dzhol, a race of very powerful beings who call themselves Gods. Will they be able to help Alexandra get the answers she has been looking for? Or will her journey reveal even more questions?

About the Author

Anastasia Assel (Gorshkova) was born in Petrozavodsk, Russia and came to the United States of America when she was 7 years old.

She was an avid reader in middle school and loved reading books by Cate Tiernan, Richelle Mead, Judy Blume, and JK Rowling. She started writing in high school and never really stopped. From novels to poetry to short stories, she has dabbled in almost every type of writing. She even wrote a TV script of one of her favorite shows for fun.

Anastasia lives in Arizona and is an English Language Arts teacher.
