I believe the editors and contributors have succeeded superbly in meeting these objectives by providing a rather unique and very valuable textbook. Clinical nephrologists, nephrology educators, and nephrology trainees are the intended audience. One hundred and fifty authors contributed to the book and all are experts in their field. This comprehensive and clinically-oriented book covers all aspects of nephrology in a succinct, lucid, and very comprehensible format. It is rich in colorful figures, diagrams, and tables that are very clear and well integrated with the text. Using this powerful format, the authors make complex issues rather easy to understand. This book makes no attempt to replace other excellent, heavily referenced, and multivolume textbooks in nephrology that are currently available. Rather, it provides a richly illustrated, clinically-oriented book. I find it extremely valuable for the practicing nephrologist and especially to trainees in nephrology. Also, this book is a superb resource for teachers/educators in nephrology. The format and the well-designed illustrations make this book quite unique in the field of nephrology.
