I received a copy of this book through NetGalley. Genre: Romantic Suspense This is book three in Laura Griffin’s Alpha Crew Series. The first two books in the series, At the Edge and Edge of Surrender are tied together. Although all the stories involve the same crew, the reader will not have to read the first two to enjoy this one. But you should. Because they are great! Ethan Dunn is a navy SEAL, part of a super elite, super secret team. The crew is sent to Thailand to rescue the new American ambassador and his daughter who have been taken hostage by terrorists. Karly Bonham is a journalist on her first assignment overseas. Covering celebrities for her magazine Pacifica, she was thrilled to cover one of the most eligible bachelors in southern California, the new ambassador. After spending most of her time writing, she decided to spend a few hours snorkeling on her last day in Thailand. That quickly turned into a nightmare as terrorists attacked the boat on shore, killing everyone on board. Terrified, Karly made her way into the jungle to hide only to be found by Ethan and the rest of his Alpha Crew team. Knowing details they didn’t have, she became an asset to the team and an attraction to Ethan that he could not forget. This story is so typical of Laura’s books, which is why she is always a “must read” for me. Chock full of intrigue, action and, of course, the ever-present attraction and anticipation between the two main characters, makes for a book you can’t put down.

This is my first book by this author but OMG it was awesome! Ethan and his team come across Karly on a mission. She is struggling to help a group of hostages, as well as a new friend, to escape from a terrorist group. But she’s got to survive long enough to do so first. When she’s discovered by Ethan she is tossed into the center of a top secret reconnaissance mission that quickly turns from fact gathering to rescue. Unfortunately, they are severely outmanned. The resulting battle is intense and I felt my pulse pound along with Karly’s. This has so many things I love in the books I read. Filled with so much suspense, action and drama as well as one sexy SEAL and I was totally sold on this series. The only downside was there was no epilogue and I really needed to know what happened to this couple in the future. I’m digging into this author’s backlist as fast as I can. My honest review is for a special copy from NetGalley that I voluntarily read. Dual POV Safe Possible triggers – it is mentioned that her friend has been gang raped while hostage. That is all it says and there is no description and nothing else said about it.

Cover of Night is a fast-paced, quick read--right from the start, it's a high-adrenaline rush with terrorists and SEALs and danger around every corner. I really liked both Karly and Ethan--they were really good together--but then I'd have to remind myself that they'd just met. (Yes, there's a longish stretch of time in there, but as he's out of town on a mission, it barely seems to count, so...) Still, I liked them as a couple and would have loved to have seen more of them together. This book definitely could have been expanded into a full-length novel and given us more of...well, everything. Still, if a high-adrenaline read you can get through in a sitting or two with some smoking hot chemistry is what you're looking for to fit into your busy weekend, look no further :) This is the third book in the series, but it worked well as a standalone. Ryan (hero of books 1 and 2-- At the Edge and Edge of Surrender ) plays a role in the initial mission, and we hear enough about him and Emma to make me add both books to my TBR. I'll definitely be looking for more from this series in the future, and that teaser for the next Tracers book at the end ( Touch of Red ) has me counting the days until November! Rating: 4 stars / B+ I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Intense action novella filled with thrilling suspense and budding romance. This is my first book in the series, and even though it is different in style from the Tracer novels I have truly enjoyed from the author, it still has that smooth flow of the tale, the kind of scary action that had me curling my toes, and the kind of connection between hero and heroine that you are rooting for them to be able to make it, and build the kind of relationship that would bind them for life. Journalist Karly Bonham is a people person. Her ability to find the common ground with the interviewee and listen to them makes them open up to her, giving her a leg up on her career. She is smart and holds herself together during the crisis. Her career is what she wants to focus on, after being burned too many times with failing relationships. Navy SEAL Ethan Dunn is a man of action, a typical alpha male with a commanding presence and caring heart. For the first time in his life, he is falling, and falling hard, for Karly. I loved how open Ethan was with his feelings and his intentions with Karly, it was refreshing. They were such a great match, from the burning physical attraction to their interests, to how they calmed each other and the mental storms raging in their minds in the middle of the mayhem and its aftermath. They have a lot of obstacles on their way, not only the distance and challenge of the military relationships but Karly's doubts and insecurities as well. The action comes in waves, and when the waves come they have a tsunami kind of effect. It is intense, fierce, and alarming with horrifying realities. This story definitely could have carried a full-length book, but even as a novella, it delivered a satisfying and entertaining tale. I couldn't help but wonder if Karly didn't have her fears about failed relationships maybe they would have had a chance to develop a deeper connection, but that often is the case with a well written, engaging novella with enticing characters, you are left wanting more even though happy with the events provided. I liked the balance of suspense and romance in the tale, I thought the timing was spot on. The lull between the action, the weeks going by, gave a foundation for the emotions deepen and the feelings to grow. Chilling, brutal, and savage action mixed with passionate, amorous romance between charismatic characters ~ Four Spoons

I love Laura Griffin . However , this book left me unfulfilled. I wanted more, more growth between characters, more suspense and more pages. Overall, it's a cute fast read that lacked in a few areas.

4.5 Stars! I'm absolutely loving this series! The suspense is thrilling and the attraction between the main characters are hot. I love the writing. Very mature storyline and mature characters. The only thing I don't like is how abrupt the author ends these novellas. They feel like a full story until the very end. It's the only reason I don't give a full 5 stars. I would love it if the author gave us a few more pages once the couple make the decision to be a couple. They would be 5+ stars if we got more, however, I can't wait for the next in the series! I'm hooked! ARC provided by NetGalley.

Cover of Night is a fast paced, action packed, sexy romance that was a joy to read. The chemistry between Ethan and Karly was sizzling and I loved them together. I enjoyed Karly's tenacity and determination and Ethan's pure alpha goodness. This one has a perfect blend of action and romance. Don't miss It! I highly recommend. Karly is on her first journalistic mission when things go terribly wrong. When her distress call for help is intercepted by a SEAL's team she finds herself in the thick of things when the team tries to extract all the hostages. Ethan realizes quickly that without Karly's help things could go bad fast.

Fast paced and totally H-O-T. Karly is a reporter on assignment in Thailand to interview the ambassador and his daughter when they are attacked. Her quick thinking and a few second phone call to send a message alerting of the attack sends help in the form of Alpha Crew, a SEAL team, who is only 4 members strong but they are mighty and able. Ethan comes across Karly in the jungle and is astonished at her tenacity and strength and absolutely captivated by her. She doesn't hinder their recovery of the hostages but helps them. Survival is sweet but meeting up a couple days later is soul binding. Fast forward several months and back to San Diego and will the connection remain or was it just part of the survival? Great characters and fast paced story. I am really enjoying this series! **Received this ARC for review from the publisher via NetGalley**

Cover of Night by Laura Griffin is the 3rd book in her Alpha Crew series. The story begins with a bang. Karly Bonham, our heroine, is on assignment as an entertainment reporter to interview the Ambassador in Thailand at an exclusive resort. On Karly’s last day, she enjoys herself with all those she has met. When she is on a boat, she sees an attack happening on the beach, with gunfire everywhere, including terrorists heading for the boat she is on. After seeing a few of her new friends get killed, Karly panics and jumps into the ocean. She will try to use her phone to call for help. Ethan Dunn is an elite member of the Alpha Crew Seal team. He and three of his team hear the call for help, and go to the island to assess the situation before the rest of the rescue team arrives. They find Karly alive, though a bit injured from her desperate swim back to the island. Karly is relieved to have help, but is worried as there are only 4 members to fight off a large group of terrorists. It will be Ethan who will take Karly under his wing, and immediately the two are attracted to each other. Karly refuses to stay back alone, while the men go in to try to rescue the ambassador and his daughter; she manages to use the communications equipment to warn them of what is happening while they attempt the rescue. What follows is a slow build romance between Karly and Ethan, as they both are drawn to each other after their narrowing rescue. The story moves to California, with Karly emotionally recovering from her adventure and back on the job. She avoids calls from Ethan wanting to continue to see her, but she knows there can be no future for them, since he is always on assignments. But Ethan’s persistence will allow him to be near Karly, when the FBI enlists her help in trying to find the mastermind, behind the terrorists, who have struck again elsewhere. The wild exciting suspenseful climax will find Karly’s life in danger, and Ethan desperate to save her life. The romance between Karly and Ethan was sweet and sexy. I really liked them together. Cover of Night was a very good suspenseful story, with a great couple. I did feel that the ending was a bit abrupt. However, this is an excellent series by a wonderful author. If you enjoy mystery, suspense with romance, then you should be reading Laura Griffin.
