Saint Kateri Tekakwitha
Who was St. Kateri Tekakwitha? She was born in 1656 in what is now upstate New York. Her mother was a Catholic Algonquin and her father was a Mohawk Chieftain. Kateri was devoted to our Lady, the Mother of Jesus, and to Jesus Himself in the Most Blessed Sacrament. How did she come to focus her life in this way? What hardships did she endure in her walk with Our Lord? How did Kateri struggle and endure in order to truly live her faith? Her life was a short one, but it was a life that Kateri lived fully.
