Turn is a command given to search and rescue dogs to avoid a wrong or dangerous path. "Dangerous Turn Ahead" is about Gabe Turner's journey, and how his participation in Boy Scouts and with a canine search and rescue team, turn him from a life without the Lord, to one of spiritual fulfillment. Through this journey, Gabe goes from being bullied to finding his place among his peers, as an Eagle Scout and from feeling afraid and inadequate, to planning for his future.

About the Author

Sherri grew up in Syracuse, NY surrounded by German Shepherds and spent her summers hiking the Adirondack Mountains. After earning a degree in Industrial Engineering, she and her husband owned and showed Afghan Hounds for ten years, but shepherds were her first love. In 1993 she purchased Taz who led her into the world of canine search and rescue, where she continues to serve, while using her expertise to teach others how to develop and apply these life saving skills. She has had hundreds of search assignments, particularly in deep wilderness situations. She was even called on to participate in a search near the Arctic Circle. When her son crossed from Cub Scouts into Boy Scouts, Sherri started volunteering as a merit badge counselor, assisting close to a hundred boys as they followed the path toward Eagle Scout. For over a decade, through active parental support and guidance and amazing Troop leadership, their Troop had 35% of the Scouts, including Sherri's son, earn their Eagle rank. She brings the authenticity of all these experiences into her writing. Sherri and her husband of over 30 years, currently live near Chicago. They are usually accompanied by her two canine partners and are waiting for just the right puppy to train next.
