Some women always get it right. Kindergarten teacher, Meg Thompson, on the other hand, consistently makes the wrong decisions -- and she is currently single, pregnant and alone. Meg is determined to make changes in her life, to be a better mother than her own had been. No revolving door of men. No man, period. Just a single-minded focus on her baby. Her resolution would be easier to keep if not for hot cop, Scott Dare. He insinuates himself in her life, making Meg want to believe in happily ever after, even if history has taught her to know better.

When Scott Dare hears Meg's friends are determined she have a night of hot sex, before her life changes forever, he decides that man must be him. Their one night is mind blowing and life altering. And Scott, a man already burned by his ex-wife, finds himself all in anyway. While protecting Meg from her violent ex and becoming part of her increasingly complicated life, he's falling hard and he can't seem to find distance. Not when their bodies respond to each other with such heated intensity and he's drawn to her unique combination of strength and vulnerability.

But Meg's future is one Scott has accepted he'll never have, even if his growing feelings say otherwise ...

I loved when we got a brief glimpse of the possibility if Scott and Meg in Olivia and Dylan's book. I was looking forward to reading their story and learning more about them. This book did not disappoint as far as my expectations were concerned. Scott steps in when Meg's friends decide she needs one last one night stand before settling into pregnancy and motherhood. After that one night, Scott takes over Meg's protection from her crazy ex-boyfriend. She agrees to the protection, but has no idea what else is going to be thrown at her before the saga with her ex ends. His parents and backstory are also thrown into the mix. I thought the book was very well written and couldn't wait to see how their story concluded. I also enjoyed the continuing story of Olivia and Dylan. I've enjoyed each Dare story, and this one was no exception.

Dare to Hold is Book 6 in the Dare to Love Series by Carly Phillips.  In this story we deal with the attraction and chemistry between Scott Dare, a Miami policeman and Meg Thompson, a kindergarten teacher.  Meg is pregnant by her ex-boyfriend, the ex who caused her to be hospitalized in the previous book, Dare to Touch.  It is while she is hospitalized that she meets Scott.  Although Scott has been burned by his ex-wife, there is something about Meg that draws him to her.  Meg is trying to turn over a new leaf to become more independent and not rely on men or get involved with another.  Meg’s girlfriends think that she should have one last fling before giving it all up for the baby.  When Scott hears that, he is determined to be the one she has the fling with. The chemistry and attraction between Scott and Meg drives this relationship and their dependency on one another. Scott wants to protect Meg from her ex however; this conflicts with her desire to be independent, not to rely on anyone for herself and her baby. I enjoyed this story between Scott and Meg.  It has the feel of the previous Dare to Love books, but it is a standalone story. I loved the way Ms. Phillips showed the growth of the relationship between these two characters as well as how they learn to trust each other and themselves.  I highly recommend this book to all readers and I cannot wait for the next story in this series.

Another great installment in the Dare series! I have to admit that this one wasn't my favorite, but it's still an enjoyable read. The story felt a little....rushed(?)...to me. I can't put my finger on exactly what it was that bothered me about it, but it felt like something wasn't quite right. I did like Scott's alpha-but-not-always attitude and Meg is a good representation of a lot of women I know, outwardly needy and insecure but strong enough to stand on her own if she'd just trust herself a little. The story line works, the feels are real, and the characters are likable. Can't wait for the next book!

Liked the book, but for 5 bucks would like more than 120 pages. A bit of a ripoff in my opinion

Dare to Hold is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone issue without cliff hangers but with HEA. Carly Phillips is one of my go to authors, you can always bet that her books will grab you from the first word and won't let go until the very end, and then you still want more! This book is the 4th in the series and it's about Scott and Meg. Scott is a the typical Dare man who is a Alpha and extremely bossy. Meg is pregnant with her ex's baby and has been known to be clingy and drawn to bad boys. She's ruled out men and wants to stand on her own two feet without relying on someone else. Scott has is own problems but is just so drawn to Meg that he can't stay away and his white knight tendencies come out when she's in trouble. It's a tale of a hot fling that turns into life long love. My only problem is that I would have loved to find out the gender of the baby.

This is my favorite so far in this series. Meg is not a Dare but she is Dylan’s (Olivia’s husband) ex. She has also got the attention of Scott Dare, Olivia’s brother. Meg is pregnant, that doesn’t sound like a perfect girlfriend but it is for Scott. Not because she is pregnant, but because he just cannot stop thinking about her and wanting to protect her. The protection is part of The Dare Family, every man in the family protects his woman except for the father. Scott is the dream Dare man for me. He is sweet, protective, and patient. He is not a push over, but he knows when Meg needs space and is willing to give it to her. When he does wrong he realizes it and works to make it right. I didn’t love Meg. I felt like she was too needy, too quick to jump to conclusions, and I didn’t like her hanging onto Dylan. I know that Dylan is her ex and has been there for after their relationship ended. I liked that Scott took over Dylan’s spot in her life. He was there no matter what was happening, no matter where she was, and no matter who was causing her problems. This is another great book in the Dare to Love series by Carly Phillips. I recommend checking them all out.

Yay! I love the Dare's! I've been wondering about Meg since she popped up as a part of Dylan's life and I am so glad that her and Scott found each other. I enjoyed how protective he was and how he would stop at nothing to help her. The climactic scene with Mike was quite the suspenseful one as well. I loved how it ended and while I wanted a little bit more closure with her returning to work, I think Phillips did another spectacular job.

The whole submission theme is not something i look for in a good read. Despite the underlying submission theme the rest of the story was different enough to keep me reading to the end. With only 159 pages i thought, "what the heck." Pretty good writing and editing are my reasons for giving 4 stars.

5 star The story has laughs, suspense, pain, secrets, and heartbreak. I was pulled right into this story. The story flowed well and I was kept interested.  If you have not already read the below I would recommend reading those books first: Dare to Love (Dare to Love, #1) Dare to Desire (Dare to Love #2) Dare to Surrender (Dare to Love #3) Dare to Submit (Dare to Love, #4) Dare to Touch (Dare to Love #5) This is Meg and Scott’s story. Meg is going to stay single and raise her baby.  Scott has other ideas for Meg.  When they agree to have one night together Scott is already trying to figure out how to get a second and third night from her.  Can Scott change Meg’s mind?  Can he prove to her that he was all she ever wanted?  Scott has a lot of convincing to do to get Meg to change her mind.  Add in the ex and his parents things just keep getting crazy.   Can they work together to have a baby and make a relationship work?    I loved these characters and all the Dare family members. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.  I highly recommend this book, this series and this author.
