Overview

I broke her heart ten years ago and left town.

She hates me, and rightly so. It doesn't matter that the rest of the country loves me, that I'm a starting quarterback with a multimillion-dollar contract. Because when I look in the mirror, all I see is a failure who was too young--and too afraid--to fight for what I wanted.

But I'm not that guy anymore, and all I need is one shot to convince her.

***
He has no idea what happened after he left. And now I'm supposed to work alongside him like we don't have this huge, messy history?

But I'm older now, wiser, and I won't let anything stand in my way of doing a good job for this league. Not even one overpaid, arrogant player who thinks we're going to kiss and make up.

News flash, buddy: I am over you.

I love Kendall Ryan and this book has to be one of my favourite reads by this very talented author it is everything I expected and so much more if you love second chance romance this is a must read. Wes and Jane have a history and their past didn’t end well so how will their future go when Wes ends up on the team where Jane is the assistant manger and her father is the coach. A cocky hot football player and a sassy independent woman seems like a recipe for disaster but Wes is older now and willing to admit when he gets things wrong but has Jane grown up enough to listen to his apology.. This book was a delight to read it took me to a happy place and it captivated me and once I started I couldn’t put it down. This book ticks every box the characters have depth and honestly, there is plenty sizzling chemistry, witty banter that flows and as always Kendall Ryan gives us another hero to fall in love with. I’m so excited to get Alex’s story.

Jane and Wes were childhood sweethearts. When long distance isn’t working when they are in college Jane makes the decision to let him go. She is shocked when the football team she works for picks him up. Great second chance romance. I liked how Wes owned up to his past mistakes. Jane made him work for forgiveness. A sweet and steamy read. Super enjoyable.

This review is for an ARC and is my unbiased, honest opinion. This story is about high school sweethearts who drifted apart only to be back in each other’s lives ten years later. Jane works for a professional football team as an assistant manager. Her father also happens to be the head coach for the same team, the Hawks. Football is very important to this family and they all care deeply for the sport. Jane’s ex, Weston Chase, was her first and only long term boyfriend. Weston is joining the Hawks as their new quarterback. Things didn’t exact end well for these two so it’s quite awkward to be back in each other’s lives after such a long time. On a positive note, I really like the characters and the plot. I love sports romances, especially football ones so that didn’t disappoint me. What did disappoint me was how we were hyped from the get go about this major resentment and hard feelings the main characters had towards each other…only for their issues to resolve in mere seconds. Everything felt too easily fixed. One quick apology and ten years of hatred merely disappears within seconds. It was just a little too fast for my tastes. Jane was a great character but had some flaws to her. She was able to feel things so intensely but she easily forgave within a moment’s notice. It’s like she had an on and off switch for her emotions. I don’t know about you, but if I held onto something for ten years, it would be really hard to just move on because of one conversation. Weston was also quite fickle with his feelings and emotions. He would constantly battle himself over whether or not he should be with Jane. It was really hard to see him constantly toying with Jane’s emotions. The side character Alex really stole the show for me. I kept wanting him to pop back up in the story just to learn more about him. His friendship with Jane was the sweetest. At several points throughout the story, I was rooting for those two to get together. In the end, I’m happy with how the book wrapped up. It was a good story overall but I just didn’t love it like I did this author’s other stories.

I love sport romances, Jen and Wes story is very interesting, Jane and Wes haven’t been in contact for a decade, Jane has a secret and when Wes is hired as the new QB for her team the sparks and tension becomes a train ready to wreck, but not everything in life is chemistry, and so they have to find a way again.

Amazing Amazing story!! Kendall Ryan is one of my go-to authors. She's never written a book that I've felt "meh" about. I've loved every book I've read! This was not what I was expecting with a title that reminded me of a "Dear John". Which it is in a way but SO very different. Wes and Jane were together and had the romance of a lifetime, but college and life were going to make it harder and so Jane let Wes go. A second chance romance to the max, as Wes is picked up by the professional team that Jane works for. I love a good sports romance anyway, and a second chance romance, so this fit both of those!

This cover tho!! Holy moly. I cannot stop staring at this gorgeousness. Dear Jane is a sweet and somewhat emotional second chance romance. I went in blind and expected something completely different based on the title and cover. I was pleasantly surprised by Weston and Jane’s story. Here’s what I enjoyed: The main characters - Weston and Jane have a complicated history, so when he returns home they’re both a bit blindsided. Regardless of the tension, they both know their past relationship and chemistry isn’t over. Jane is a great heroine. Hard-working, tough, and put together. Weston is sexy and sweet. The complete opposite of what I expected from a football player. The storyline and execution - it’s tropey and a bit predictable. But, if you’re in the mood for a light, sexy, read, this a great choice. The history the two characters share was well done and definitely caught my attention. It’s a super quick read with just enough angst to keep the reader on their toes and sweet and sexy where I needed. All in all a fun little read.

Playful, steamy, and fun! Dear Jane is a heartwarming, second-chance romance between the charismatic, kind, ruggedly handsome Wes who still regrets letting his high school sweetheart slip away, and the sweet, hardworking, intelligent Jane who coped with more than just a broken heart when Wes left for college. The prose is light and crisp. The characters, including the supporting characters, are engaging, quirky, and amusing. And the plot, from start to finish, is filled with lust, longing, emotion, angst, witty banter, undeniable chemistry, and delicious romance. Overall, Dear Jane is an easy, quick, lighthearted read with a charming storyline, heartfelt moments, football backdrop, delightful happy-ever-after ending, and a cover that I can’t stop ogling.

4.5 stars Kendall Ryan is one of my go to authors when I need a lighter and relaxing read and I've always enjoyed her books. But I can honestly say that in my opinion Dear Jane is one of her best books. It is romantic, funny, and a little bit heartbreaking. The characters are amazing and I got invested into their story from the very beginning. There was just something about Jane and Weston that endeared them to me from the start. Even though, I couldn't exactly understand Jane in the beginning (she was kind of bitchy towards Weston for something he did 10 years ago), with the progression of the story, things came clearer and clearer. And to be fair, I could kind of sympathise with her. She lived through a tragedy and the only person she thought she can count on, wasn't there. Thankfully, things are much better the second time around even if there are still some misunderstandings and mistakes made by both characters. Ultimately, this is a beautiful second chance story that in my opinion is a must read. So don't waste any time and pick up your copy now :) I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Weston and Jane were high school sweethearts; their intense relationship crashed and burned when Weston went off to college on a football scholarship leaving Jane devastated and Weston filled with regret. 10 years later Jane and Weston’s lives converge once more when Weston is transferred to play for the team Jane works for. Jane has harbored a lot of resentment towards Weston and has never fully recovered from their break-up, becoming very guarded in the process. There were other circumstances regarding the break-up hinted at through the narrative building tension within the plot. My mind always goes to the worst-case scenario so there were a lot of heart palpitations occurring while reading. Despite their agonizing break-up, it is blatantly obvious that neither Weston or Jane has lost their feelings for the other; the only problem is the reason for their break in the first place is still relevant today – the time and dedication required to be a first-class athlete. Jane and Weston belong together, that much is undeniable BUT can Weston see past the barriers to the solution and take a chance on love You’ll have to read it to find out

Great second chance love story between a hot quarterback and an assistant manager to his new professional football team. Dear Jane is a quick read and immediately you feel for Jane and all she has been through. Their relationship ended abruptly in the past and it has been 10 years since they have seen each other. The chemistry is immediately still there and Weston has his work cut out for him to get another chance with Jane. The timing wasn't right when their relationship ended before but now they have another chance at love and a lasting relationship. This book is a page turner. Definite one-click to see how it all turns out. Enjoy!!!

This was a good read! This was a first for me from this author, and the writing kept my attention right from the start! This was a light hearted read, without a lot of drama. Wes and Jane were high school sweethearts that couldn't make the long distance thing work. There were other things going on, but I don't want to spoil anything! I liked Wes and Jane together, and I thought they had great chemistry. I know other reviewers didn't like that Jane forgave Wes so easily, but I didn't think there was a whole lot to forgive. He was in the dark about the past, and although he was stupid for trying to make decisions for Jane, it wasn't an unforgivable thing. I loved the epilogue, it was super cute! I voluntarliy reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

Get Ready for another Second Chance Romance that will steal your heart away. Jane & Wes haven't seen each other in years and when they are reunited, the sparks come alive as well as their pasts and secrets they have from one another. I enjoyed the build up and the chemistry between the two of them. Their story was touching and had me in tears. Go get this book and enjoy how Wes & Jane learn to build a friendship that turns into a romance that will have you swooning.

Another amazing 5 star read from Kendall. This is one of the best second chance romances I have read all year. I love a good reunion! Jane and Weston have some of the best chemistry and mesh so well together, once the past is let go of and they move forward together. I love the sweet, wittiness of this book. I'm sad this is the last Ryan book of the year! Bring on 2019 for more amazing books!

Gah could this book be anymore perfect???? Wes is my new book boyfriend and Jane is my favorite heroine. There is a lot of emotions that you will experience once you start reading Dear Jane. The ups and downs, the twist and turns. I was hooked from the get go. I have always been a fan of Kendall Ryan and this is her best book yet! I loved the beginning, I melted with the middle, and I fell for this story at the end! Dear Jane is a must read and deserves all the swoon worthy stars!!!!

Dear Jane is a great sports romance! I love sports books, so I was very excited when I found out Kendall was writing a sports romance. She does a great job of tying football into the storyline and keeping it an active component. I enjoyed the main concept of the book and how everything develops as the book goes on. Wes can be an idiot at times, but he's a strong, determined, caring guy. Jane is a sweet, hardworking, and funny girl. She's got a great head on her shoulders and is great at her job. Her relationship with Wes is filled with ups and downs. They have a lot of struggles but they were meant to be. I would have liked a just a little more detail and content towards the end. The epilogue was a cute one for sure! I'm excited for Finding Alexei now!

From the eye-catching cover to the intriguing synopsis, this second chance romance will leave you swooning and wanting for more. It comes to no surprise that Kendall Ryan is one of my favorite authors, she knows how to deliver a great romance and Dear Jane did not disappoint at all. At the beginning of the story we get to meet Jane Royce who happens to be the assistant manager for the Hawks. As a huge fan herself, she is happy to work with her favorite team and with her dad. But being the daughter of the head coach can make things a bit difficult so she works non stop in order to prove that she got the job for herself and not because of her dad. But it’s one news that completely throws her off the loop and she now has to face her ex as he joins the team.Weston Chase was her first and only long-term boyfriend who she experienced many firsts with back when they were together. Yet, that didn’t stop him from breaking her hear after leaving for college and ever since she vowed to avoid him at any cost. Nevertheless, time has changed both of them in so many ways that seeing him again has brought back memories of the love and attraction that they once had for each other. No matter what she does, Jane is more drawn to Weston than ever before. As the two spend more time together, she starts to realize just how much she misses him, but she holds a secret from him, one that could ultimately end things between them if she doesn’t tell him soon. Weston Chase has the looks and money to get just about anyone he would want. But after going through so many changes in his life, he all too happy to switch teams but he never expected to see Jane again. It takes him by surprise at first, but when it’s evident that she is avoiding him he takes it upon himself to clear the air with her which does not end up turning out like he had hoped. She is angry with him for a reason and it is when she finally tells him what happened all those years ago after he left that he is overwhelmed with anger and grief. He knows that they have to move on from their past, but he broke her heart once and he is scared of hurting her heart once again. Now he’ll have to figure out how to win her back completely before it’s too late. I absolutely loved Dear Jane, it was funny, sweet and totally swoon worthy! Jane is a strong character in the book who is not going to back down without a fight and she is doing that at job every day. She knows what she wants and is not afraid to get it. On the other hand, Weston is such a playboy whose heart has been devoted to Jane from the very start. He is overprotective towards her and he wants her back. The story is told in dual point-of-view which was great, because we got to truly see how the characters reacted to things individually or their reasons behind a their decisions. It’s evident that Jane and Wes have a complicated past that they have to let go, and as the two spend time to reconnect that’s exactly what they end up doing. The ending was one of my favorite part, it was unique and romantic. The epilogue will leave you satisfied and swooning over the characters. It was truly a great read that I would highly recommend checking out and others by the author. :) ***ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.***

Dear Jane is a heartwarming story about Jane and Weston! They once were High School sweethearts but things came to an end, fast forward ten years later and Weston is now a QB for Janes football team she manages with her Dad! Needless to say I thoroughly enjoyed this rather intriguing and interesting read about what happened so many years ago! Have they both gotten over each other or are feelings still there? Watch their story unfold, I loved how the storyline progressed, the feelings involved that tugged my heart so much I couldn’t put it down! A truly amazing book that shows sometimes love lost can be found again! Can’t wait to read more from this author!

Loved it! Another hit from Kendall. The Dear Jane scene was so sweet and not at all how I interpreted the title. The characters had a lot of hurt and history to navigate. I enjoyed watching the relationship evolve. Can’t wait for Alexi’s story. Great characters and a unique storyline.

This was pretty good. I’m giving this 3.5 out of 5 stars. This review is for an ARC, and reflects my honest opinion. First let me just say that the guy on the cover is a hottie, but he’s pretty skinny for a football player/how Weston was described. This was entertaining overall, but one thing that held me back from giving it a higher rating was how “easy” everything was. Based on the summary, I felt like Jane was going to dig her heels in and not give into anything Wes tried with her. Without spoiling anything, I’ll just say that it was a different book than expected. I liked Jane and Wes a lot, and enjoyed both POVs in the book. The epilogue was cute. I was kind of surprised this ended at 83%, but there was a preview for another one of Kendall’s books that I’m excited for. There was not really a lot of focus on football compared to some other sports romance books I’ve read, but I thought what was in there was well done…speaking as someone who doesn’t watch football. I think I’ve rated all of Kendall’s books the same, but this one was my favorite so far by a slight margin. I thought the pacing was on point, and I didn’t find myself wanting to put the book down really, so that was a plus.

Weston has made it in professional football but due to a crazy personal issue, gets traded to a new team which puts him back in Jane’s orbit, the girl he dumped in college. Jane is surprised to learn that Wes has signed on with the team she works for but knows she can be professional. The problem, these two were each other’s first loves and those feelings never really die. Of course, there is the issue with how Wes walked away from Jane, can she forgive him? What has happened over the last 10 years, are they really the same people? Or can they find that old love again? I enjoyed this sports romance. I love Jane’s job and her confidence, she definitely doesn’t just let Wes back into her world. And Wes, well, he needed to do some growing up, realize some hard truths about his actions which gave this romance an added depth.

As always Kendall did not disappoint, I was sucked into this story and kept telling myself just one more chapter, just one more until the very end. If you are a second chance romance junkie like myself then prepare to fall head over heels in love with Wes and Jane's story. A story that was fun, sexy, witty and filled with explosive chemistry that will have you begging for more!

Hot 5 star second chance romance. Trying to stay in the hate mode when your ex ends up back in your life after ten years, shouldn’t be hard, especially with the way things ended between Jane and Weston. But after just one unguarded conversation she’s finding it harder and harder to resist his undeniable charms. Wes had just graduated from high school last time he and Jane were together. They promised they’d stay together but life on campus hundreds of miles apart made it almost impossible and when Jane truly needed Wes by her side, he let her down. Badly. Now, ten years later she knows he’s not the same guy he once was, he’s grown up and matured… in all ways. But can he be the guy she wants… and will he stay for good this time? This was a fast, extremely hot read, Wes and Jane had an insane chemistry, there was no way to deny it. Not even her dad was blind to how they felt. Wes was a really sweet guy and truly sorry for the mistakes he’d inadvertently made in the past. He was adorable as he showed Jane how much he had changed. Loved that guy, so, so much. Jane was a true sassy heroine who could stand up for herself. She gave as good as she got, she didn’t let Wes rollercoaster her back into his arms. The secondary characters were well fleshed out and fun to read as well, loved the little comedic part with the socks, lol, so yeah, I’m looking forward to reading those stories too. Alexei is up next, but will we have an entire team of them? Who knows? Only the future… and Kendall for sure.
