About the Author

Tom Ryker was raised on a small ranch in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and enjoyed many childhood adventures working, hiking, fishing and exploring near his home. His love of the mountains has stayed with him and he enjoys nothing better than being out of cell range - miles off the beaten path. He's married to an amazing lady and has four wonderful children.

Tom's education and experience has been in business and technology. He's intrigued with developing and executing great leadership principles and practices - both in corporate America and our government. His love of storytelling coupled with a growing concern for failing State and Federal leadership, inspired him to write an easy-to-read action packed novel called "Defiance.”

The intent of this literary work is to explore what can happen when contemporary governments become so corrupt and irresponsible that they ignite the fiery indignation of patriots like the George Washingtons, Thomas Jeffersons, John Adams and Benjamin Franklins among us.

Tom's modest travels around the world have opened his eyes to the amazing things he's taken for granted in the United States of America. He says, "Every time away, I cannot wait to get home to this land I love – where I feel safe, secure and can pursue happiness." Tom believes the heart of this great country is in its people and the inspired principles of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution – which he feels are all under subtle and open attack.

His hope is that that this series of Novels will light the spark of patriotism in those who are trying to remain neutral, fish slap those who are “capable” of working but have their hand out for aid, and add fuel to the fire of those who’ve taken the time to understand the dangers within our borders that threaten the viability of the United States of America and our freedom.
