Newspaperman, magazine journalist, prize-winning author of over 80 non-fiction books and novels, Robert A. Liston has been called a professional writer, someone who earns his living writing on a wide-variety of subjects and in many genre.

Liston was born in Youngstown, Ohio and raised in nearby Portage County, where he graduated from Hiram College. The college library archives his books and papers. At Hiram he met Jean Altman, is wife of over 60 years. They have daughters, granddaughters and a great-granddaughter. Bob and Jean have lived in many places in the US and abroad, finally settling in Santa Barbara, California.
