About the Author

Amazon Bestselling author, Victoria Saccenti picked up pencil and paper the moment her childhood book heroes started conversing with her. Sounds a little crazy, but there's no rhyme or reason for inspiration. Back then, she wrote one-act plays and short fairy tales for simple amusement. Today-many...many moons later-her playful stories have grown into family sagas and retro and contemporary romances with an edge. An avid people watcher, she explores in her novels the twists and turns of human interaction, the many facets of love, and all possible happy endings.
Victoria lived overseas and traveled the world for thirty years, and she brings that experience and sense of adventure to her stories. She enjoys taking her reader on a private journey from America to Europe to Southeast Asia and back around.
Central Florida is home. She splits her busy schedule between family and her active muse at Essence Publishing. But if she could convince her husband to sell their home, she would pack up her computer and move to Scotland, a land she adores.

5 Stars ***** Destiny’s Plan is a story about fate and love. So many different types of love and feelings went into this book that it made it a great book that I devoured. This book starts off with a chance meeting between Raquelita and Matthew on a bus with both of them heading off to start their lives but in completely different ways. Raquel’s mom has taken her and her sister away from their Papa and is starting over somewhere else with the help of someone unexpected. Matthew is headed off to war after dealing with utter chaos in his life. Raquel becomes the breathe of fresh air for him and their meeting changes the course of their lives. I think that the things I loved most about this book was the numerous POVs; which is surprising for me because I normally don’t like so many different story lines in one book but in this book with this authors writing style, I feel like it really made the book so much better to understand what was happening around Raquel and Matthew. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series!

Reviewed by K.C. Finn for Readers' Favorite Destiny’s Plan is a romance novel by Victoria Saccenti and the first book in the Destiny’s Series. Set during the Vietnam war, the plot recounts the first meeting of Raquelita Muro and Matthew Buchanan just as he is about be recruited and sent off to Vietnam. These innocent and idealistic young lovers encounter a world that seems to no longer believe in love, and their relationship is tested by war, distance, hardship, and family interference. Through it all, however, they try to remain strong, and it’s up to them to see whether they can handle what fate throws at them, or whether it will tear them apart for good. An innocent tale of love at first sight takes a serious twist as war looms. Victoria Saccenti has created a charming and naïve heroine in Lita, who learns the harsh lessons of the real world and grows up through the readers’ eyes. The Hispanic culture is vividly presented with lively characters that make up Lita’s family, and though Destiny’s Plan is quite a long book, it is easy to read and keep turning pages. Matthew’s hardship and shocking consequences of his time in Vietnam presented a really interesting and unexpected twist to the story, and I can safely say that the plot line is not what you would usually expect from a historical romance. The political backdrop of 1960s America takes a back seat to the secrets in the Muro family, the two atmospheres combining in a very satisfying and engrossing way.
