Dive Bartender: Sibling Rivalry
Frank Ford is a survivor of 10 long years at the Metropole Bar, where he's babysitter and alcohol dealer to Zenith City's derelict class: the misfits, the losers, the crazies, the old fading lushes, and, of course, the budding young alcoholics unaware or indifferent to what lies ahead.

We first see Frank in the aftermath of his little brother's funeral. Ray was an addict and a constant irritant. Forgotten, is how Frank wanted to remember Ray. The police, who also lost no love for Ray Ford, are leaning towards a verdict of suicide for the swollen, pulpy body that washed ashore near the port terminal. Frank thinks it was murder, but he's willing to let it ride.

His grieving mother has other ideas.

Set in 1977, Dive Bartender: Sibling Rivalry combines elements of David Goodis and Raymond Chandler with the popular culture of the era to form a pulp novel of sex, drugs, violence and smelt fishing.

About the Author

T.K. O'Neill's previous crime story, South Texas Tangle, is a tribute to Elmore Leonard and Donald Westlake. His Dead Low Winter, published in 2015, was a remake of his 1999 story, "Social Climbing," which was also translated into Japanese by the Tokyo publishing house Fusosha. O'Neill's hardboiled detective novel Jackpine Savages, available in trade paperback and ebook formats, was named a 2014 National Indies Excellence Award Finalist. His crime/noir story of an ill-fated ex-boxer, Fly in the Milk, was published as an ebook in 2012 by Bluestone Press.

He has also authored three books under the pseudonym Thomas Sparrow.:
- Northwoods Pulp: Four Tales of Crime and Weirdness
- Fatally Flawed
- Northwoods Standoff

The critically regarded novel Social Climbing, one of the Northwoods Pulp stories, was also published by Japanese publisher Fushosha. Its Japanese title is roughly translated as "Fang of Winter."
