30 Truths That Set a Woman's Heart Free to Become All God Created Her to Be

In this all-new devotional, Holley Gerth encourages women to embrace who they are, become all God created them to be, and discover more of his purposes for their lives. She shares thirty truths from God's Word with insights based on women in the Bible, interactive journaling questions, and engaging prayer prompts for personal transformation and practical application.

"I praise you because you made me in an amazing and wonderful way" (Ps. 139:14). Holley's affirming message reminds all of us that believing the truth about who God says we are leads to praise, not to pride. It also brings joy, hope, and a deeper sense of purpose to our lives. Here's the secret: truth is not just a fact we store in our heads. Truth is Someone we seek with our hearts. Spending time with him and listening to his voice each day changes everything.

You really can live fully in freedom and victory. You really can know you're already loved, valuable, and amazing.

This book is the perfect companion to Holley's bestselling book You're Already Amazing.

If you aren’t sure if “Do You Know You’re Already Amazing?” is for you, the answer is YES! This incredible devotional can speak into the depths of your heart today. Even the most confidant woman has self-doubt at times. Holley Gerth explores so many different lies that the enemy tries to convince us of that I know at least one will resound with your heart and mind. The best part of this devotional to me is how it connected me much more personally with other women, most notably, women of the bible! Holley brings these women to life and shows how they were everyday women just like you and me; with similar struggles and feelings of low self-worth at times. This devotional was a great follow up to Holley’s bible study “You’re Already Amazing”, which I highly recommend as well if you haven’t done it! I received a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Holley Gerth is Amazing! This beautiful little book is a treasure, especially for women, myself included, who buy into so many lies. It is incredibly difficult to live in this world and not hear criticisms about the way we should look, the way we should treat and be treated by our spouse, how we should parent. The cacophony can be overwhelming and overshadow that still small voice of our Creator who wants us to know the truth-that we are created in His image and for that reason alone, are incredible and one of a kind. I love the way Holly uses examples of real life women in each of these mini-lessons and pairs it with a person from the Bible. It is an incredible parallel that uses God's word in a powerful way. The scripture breathes life into this book, and the truly identifiable scenarios are the heart and soul. I can't wait to rework my way through each of the thirty lies, knowing that there is so much to be gained in the truth that Holley Gerth reiterates through God's works, time and time again. This is a beautiful reminder of how the power of truth truly can set us free.

Some books reach into your heart, pressing on tender spots tucked out of sight. Currently, I'm reading a brand new devotional from one of my favorite authors, Holley Gerth. As I read, I find myself each chapter. The devotional centers around 30 truths to set our hearts free from common lies we believe. This is where I find myself in each chapter. Filled with reminders of truths that really do set my heart free, Holley tackles struggles I've faced many times. Here are a few of the truths that have been good reminders for me: • You're not in visible • You don't need to do it all • You're not defined by a man • You're enough as you are • You belong • You can trust god's timing • You can let go without giving up Seamlessly weaving story and biblical example, Holley shares insights based on women in the Bible. Each devotion ends with engaging prompts to identify and release the lies that keep us from living fully in joy and freedom. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I LOVE this new devotional from Holley Gerth and can't wait to "gift" it to friends and family! If you, like many women, are struggling with feelings of never being "enough", this book will both encourage and inspire you. God created you exactly the way He wanted you to be - you are "fearfully and wonderfully made"! (Psalm 139:14) The enemy will use lies to attempt to distract each of us from the purpose God has for our lives, but Holley reminds us through this devotional that we must guard our hearts, reject those lies, and embrace God's perfect truth. I received a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Holley Gerth’s Do You Know You’re Already Amazing? is simply that, amazing. She weaves bible stories with those of everyday women to give us simple truths. We should not listen to the world’s expectations or those that we, as women, put on ourselves. Holley reminds us of God’s truths, that we are already amazing, just as we are, as long as we focus on God’s word.

Every woman should read this book!! I have read and loved every book and devotional that Holley has ever written, and this devotional did not disappoint! I expected this book to be similar in content to the companion book, but the content was new and fresh and exactly what I needed to hear. When I read this book, it felt like I was going to a wonderful counselor and spending time with a caring friend all in one. It is well written and full of spiritual wisdom and addresses 30 lies that women are tempted to believe as well as the truths to counteract those lies. Pick one up for yourself and a friend or two. You will love it! (I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.)

There are hundreds of messages fed to us every single day; not all of them are true. This one is packed with truth that your mind needs to know and your heart needs to receive every single day. I love this book. Holley has a way of drawing her readers into a story. It feels like we're sitting across the table from one another sipping our tea. Holley gets it. She loves God and his heart for his daughters. It's like she's writing personal messages to me from Him. Like this one from Day 5: "Living with purpose simply means living with God. It means being ready to say yes to whatever he asks us to do, whether it's big or small, quiet or loud, noticeable or invisible. We don't have to find our diving destiny someday, somewhere. We are called "for such a time as this" to such a place right here." This devotional has a section at the end of each entry for personal reflection. The questions help me to discover a lie I've been battling, but Holley doesn't leave me there with the lie. She asks more questions and I'm surprised by what surfaces. Then she shows me how to replace that lie with God's truth. It's personal. It's healing. It's freeing. By the time I'm done with the lesson I've written down some strategies to help my new reality take hold. It all took less than 15 minutes. It was my pleasure to have the opportunity to review Holley Gerth’s latest book, “Do You Know You’re Already Amazing? 30 Truths to Set Your Heart Free.” Each devotional begins with a lie either a woman in today’s culture or a woman from the Bible believes. The next statement refutes the lie based on what God’s Word has to say. A passage of Scripture, sometimes a chapter or so long, fleshes out the background of this lie. Holley paints a picture of the woman and her circumstances as she confronts the debilitating effects of the lie she believes. With skillful insight and godly wisdom, Holley focuses on the truth found only in the Bible as she weaves the truth of Scripture throughout the story. One of the devotionals, “You’re Enough As You Are,” looks at Eve as she was tempted by the Serpent. Within that conversation, the Serpent said to Eve, “…you will be like God.” Holley focuses on this phrase stating, “In other words, you’re not enough as you are. And with that lie comes a sinister implication: God is holding out on you. Ironically, it’s the same reason the serpent fell. Not content with his identity or position in heaven, he grasped for all of God’s glory and lost everything…He’s still trying to drag God’s daughters down with him.” Holley reminds us that our most powerful weapon to refute the lies we believe is Scripture. She refers the reader to Jesus’ responses to Satan during His temptation. Holley then begins filling our arsenal with verses such as, “I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” (Ps. 139:14) Each devotional ends with a section entitled, “Truth Your Heart Needs.” She asks us to envision a lie we’ve battled with; consider when or how we began battling this lie and ends with two poignant questions. The two questions, “How do I need to be healed from the ways this lie has wounded me,” and, “What’s the truth that will defeat this lie in my life,” encourages us to dig deeper to root out the devastating effects of the lies and to live victoriously in the truth of what God says about who we are. I highly recommend this devotional for anyone who is seeking (or is mentoring a woman) to grow and believe the truth of who God has made you to be and His wonderful purpose for your life. Just like Holley's other books, this devotional inspires, gives understanding and draws me closer in my walk with the Lord. I giggled to myself after reading one of the passages about "purpose." So many years I've prayed and sought God's purpose for me, and yes, I've come to terms and understanding with much but then @holleygerth goes and sums it up in this one sentence. Man, I wish I would have had this simple truth years ago. "If you're seeking God, you ARE living in your purpose." It's just that simple and that's the beauty of simplicity of Holley's words. So honest, very relatable and another HG in my stack that just is blessing my heart ❤️ on a daily basis. Holley takes Biblical truths and so simply applies that knowledge to our daily life, soul and struggles. Love that the questions at the end to make me dig a little deeper into my heart. It's for you, your mama, your daughter, your best friend, and your small group ladies. I even relate the devotions to my husband for discussion! And, a little secret, I reread her books every so often to really hide those words in my heart! It's that good! I give five stars! I recommend all of Holley's books!

When I found out that Wall Street Journal Best~Selling author Holley Gerth had written a new devotional, a companion book to “You're Already Amazing”, I couldn't wait to read it. In her first book, “You're Already Amazing”, Holley reveals 5 common lies that women tend to believe about themselves. It was so relatable, eye-opening, and revelatory that I began using portions of her book to mentor teen girls in my church. In her newest book, “Do You Know You're Already Amazing?”, Holley shares 30 lies that our hearts are tempted to believe, along with 30 Biblical truths that expose and combat those lies. Why is it important for us to recognize the lies? Holley tells us up front: “Before we know it, the lies slip in and our joy, peace and sense of purpose slip out. But we don't have to live that way. We belong to a Savior who promised, “You shall know the truth, and the truth will set you free. (John 14:6).” If you've struggled with feelings of insecurity, not belonging, not understanding your value or worth, etc., this little book will be like water in the desert for your heart. I recommend using this book along with your Bible, a {spacious} journal, and highlighter. I received a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. {However, I would have purchased it even if I hadn't!}

Reading this devotional is a lot like sitting down with a trusted friend. Imagine meeting her at your favorite coffee shop, pulling up a chair, and sharing your deepest fears and insecurities. Maybe you tell her that you don't feel good enough... smart enough, pretty enough. You wait for her response, hoping that she will say something that encourages you and reminds you that God created you with a plan and purpose for your life, and that you are already amazing, just the way you are. And she does. In this book, Holley is that trusted friend. Through examples of modern-day women, like you and me, as well as women we know from the Bible, God uses Holley to pour love and truth into our hearts, encouraging us with a daily Bible reading, and stories we can relate to that are sprinkled with encouragement and scripture. As part of Holley's launch team, I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, but if I hadn't received a free copy, I would have purchased one! I will definitely be ordering a few extra copies here and there to share with friends. If you've already read Holley's books you know that they are just too good to keep to yourself. Everyone needs a friend like Holley... but I imagine that the next best thing is ordering this book, or any of her books. You'll be glad you did!

I love this devotional! Of course, that's not a huge surprise as I have been loving the books of Holley Gerth for over two years now. I mean, each and every one has impacted my life in a really positive way and drawn me closer to God in deeper ways. This devotional is 30 truths for you to read each day as a part of your quiet time or really anytime. I love this because I like the idea of reading it through and then starting again at the beginning of the month. The thing about Holley's writing is that you are constantly finding new nuggets of truth and wisdom when you re-read them so that's what I'm going to do. These aren't tiny little one paragraph devotionals. They dig deep into the truth of God and give you a real deep truth to ponder for your life. Then at the end of the devotional, she gives you questions to think over and answer. The questions aren't little "yes or no" answers but questions that will have you really thinking about what you believe. Again, that's why this book is the perfect devotional to do over and over because you can really think about the answers. As always, Holley points to the source of our love and contentment as the Lord. She has such wonderful Scriptures throughout and shares true Biblical wisdom. I have the book, Bible study and DVD's that go along with this devotional and they make a wonderful set for truly getting into how much God loves us just as we are. I highly recommend this devotional! It's so good and really is a life changing little book. I love it and give it 5 out of 5 stars. *This book was provided to me for my honest review by the author and Revell

If you are short on time and needing some encouragement, this book will speak Truth into your life. As women we have to constantly fight lies that we hear from the world, people we're close to, and ourselves. Holley uses this book to turn us back to God's truths with this book. I love that it is simplified into 30 small sections to get encouragement every day of the month, with just a little time. This will definitely be a book I return to and share with friends who need encouragement with God's Truth as the backbone. I received a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

First, thank you Holley Gerth for giving me another book that speaks right to my heart. I found Holly when I first discovered her book "You're Already Amazing". I came just at the right time, just as I was struggling to feel like enough in this always competitive world of woman hood. Holly puts you in a place of "friendship" in her writing. It is like have a conversation with the girl next door that you think has everything all together, but then you find out she is just like you- struggling through life. I especially loved Chapter 6, where Holley speaks of our ever fleeting beauty. "Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify our Father in heaven. " Matt. 5:16 What a slap in the face!! We need to look at how we can reflect our Lord's light through our lives instead of focusing on the light of ourselves. Holley goes on to to say "By living in a way that makes others look more at Jesus than us." I forget that we may be the only Jesus sees everyday or ever....Thank you, Holley, for reminding me of that. This devotional is amazing! Worth every penny you will spend and will open your eyes to the way in which God is trying to bless you. I received a copy of this devotional free for my honest review, but I would have purchased it for my self and friends. It was amazing!

In her new devotional, Do You Know You're Already Amazing?, author Holley Gerth shares thirty truths which God seeks to deposit into our hearts about who He created us to be. I have loved Holley's past devotionals and this one did not disappoint. In fact, it delivered more than I expected. Over the years I have realized that at times I feel like I do not measure up or I am not enough. There are seasons where reason reigns and confidence is in place. But then there are those times when I am challenged to step out of my comfort zone, anxiety can set in as I attempt something new. In one chapter, Holly shares about Rebekah, who is spotted a servant sent to search for a wife for Isaac. As the servant notices Rebekah's fine character, along with her beauty, he proposes that she leave her home to go with him and become Isaac's wife. Here is what Holly shares about Rebekah and comfort zones: "If we always stick to what seems safest and most familiar, we risk missing out on what God has planned for us. Instead we can simply pray,"God, I'm open to whatever you have for me today. Even if what I face is unknown, I know you. I trust you to take care of me wherever you call me to go." Leaving our comfort zone may meant an actual change in location like it did for Rebekah. But it can also happen reaching out to others who are different than us. Learning something new. Pursuing a dream. We like to put limits on our lives, but we serve a limitless God who invites us to move beyond what has confined and defined u"s (from page 189). Having recently found myself involved in a project which put me way outside of my comfort zone, this chapter spoke deeply. As I pushed through my discomfort, I came to discover I was able to do what I thought I would be unable to do. There was a joy in accomplishing that which was formerly unknown to me. More so, I came to realize that comfort zones are overrated. The best place to be is not in our comfort zones. The best place to be is in the very place where God has called us, for it is there we will find ourselves smack in the center of His will. There are thirty truths unpacked in this devotional book. Each chapter is short but designed to remind us that we are loved by God and have been placed where we need to be for His purposes. The book contains four questions at the end of each devotional designed to prompt us to pray more on the truths shared. Each chapter is a gentle and tender reminder of our great worth and purpose. It makes a great study to do individually or as a group discussion. ** I received a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

This book is a cute purse size of 30 short devotions and can easily be read as a daily encouragement.  Each entry addresses God's truth against the lies our hearts are tempted to believe. She uses women from the Bible and relates their stories to the lives of women today.  At the end of each devotion, there is space to journal your feelings and your personal battles.   I found each devotion to be relevant to my life as a wife, mother, sister and friend.  The stories are easy to read and linked to Scripture verses.  I not only enjoyed the devotions, I enjoyed reading about so many strong women of the Bible.   Holley writes from the heart and you can see her love of women and Jesus.  I would reccommend this book to all my girlfriends to read as beautiful encouragement to start each day. (I received a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.)

Do You Know You're Already Amazing? is an uplifting, inspiring devotional that speaks God's truth to my heart every day. As women, we so often feel the pressure to be perfect and to set unreasonable goals for ourselves. The truths shared in each of these daily devotions are encouraging, comforting and remind us of God's love and that he treasures each of us just as he made us. You're Already Amazing and You're Made for a God-Sized Dream, both written by Holley Gerth, have also inspired and encouraged me so much!

Through a variety of events occurring in my life, God led me to Holley Gerth's book "You are Already Amazing" and the study, of the same name, to go along with it. God used them to begin building my self-confidence up, allowing me to see myself from His perspective. I was excited about the books and signed up for her emails and through those, I found out about the release of a new book, "Do You Know You are Already Amazing?" and was excited for it to be released. I didn't know how I would get the book but I knew I wanted it as soon as I saw the announcement. As I kept reading I saw there was an opportunity to get the book for free if I would review it for Holley upon its release. I really didn't expect to be selected for the review since I don't have a blog and I'm not a 'reviewer' but I watched my inbox with eager anticipation anyway to find out if I'd been selected. I was so excited and felt honored to be selected to receive a free copy of the book for simply reviewing it for her. I dove right into it as soon as it arrived, skipping from one chapter to the next based on the table of contents and what was going on in my and/or how I was feeling at the moment. I love that there is one devotion for each day of the month and that it is small enough to carry with me in my purse to read at any time. But the best part, imho, is the prompts at the end of each short chapter. They are the same prompts for each chapter encouraging me to review the things that I believe about myself, and if it is a lie to find out what God has to say about the matter in His word to rebut the lie. It covers more topics than in the "You are Already Amazing" books, but also continues what was begun there. This is a relatively new practice for me and I still struggle with which truth applies to which lie. God has already begun using these books in conjunction with the Bible to build my confidence, to move me from paralysis from fear into action to knowing and becoming the person He created me to be. If you struggle with believing that you are of value or have anything of value to offer this world, please know that you are and you do. This book can help you begin to use God's word to help you understand and realize your worth and I would encourage you to get AND USE this book WITH YOUR BIBLE. You will begin to see God change how you think about yourself! ~Katie Church Isaiah 62:5b

Let's face it, we are all busy and yet still in desperate need on a daily basis of timely, practical truths and tools to move us deeper into our relationship with God, particularly in the area of battling the lies the enemy shoots into our hearts to attack the very core of who we are in Christ. And this book dives into 30 prominent lies we believe about ourselves and how God thinks of us. Lies like, "I'm invisible" or "I'm not enought or "I don't belong." And this is just the tip of the iceberg! Just identifying the lies is great, but Holly goes even further and gives real-life scenarios of how these lies are subtly planted and take root in our heart, and then she goes straight to the scripture to show us how to replace each and every lie with God's truth. This new devotional is small enough to carry around in a purse or backpack but powerful enough to help with the ongoing battle at the moment it hits. And you'll feel like you have your BFF right next to you, helping you stand strong and fight the battle together! You will not be disappointed!

I was excited to get this devotional. I love Holley's writing and the last devotional she wrote became a quick favorite to pick up just whenever I am having a hard day. This one will not disappoint. The format is similar to that last one she did. There are scriptures to go with each entry and she not only uncovers the lies we hear but gave us a truth to replace it with. I love the questions after each entry to help you to go deeper and uncover the lies you hear, where they started in your life, and the truths you can replace it with. I see this being a book I refer back to over and over again. A short example from Day 1: The Lie :I'm Invisible Emma pauses, and the lies she's fought many times in life drifts to the surface of her mind: I'm invisible. If Hagar could have heard Emma's thoughts she would have nodded in understanding. Although she lived thousands of years ago, her duties also included lots of work and little appreciation. Hagar fled to the desert out of desperation. She must have felt alone, overlooked, and deeply concerned for her unborn child. No one understood all she's been through and what she'd had to do. Then an angelic visit where words of hope were spoken and Hagar "gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: You are the God who sees me', for she said 'I have now seen the one who sees me'" Sometimes our lives can feel like we're in the middle of a desert alone. The work we have to do seems as abundant as the sand. We're thirsty for affirmation and a little recognition. Feelings of being overlooked and unappreciated pile up like dunes (or piles of laundry) in our souls. We wonder if our lives even matter. Yet in those overlooked places, God comes to us and whispers, "I see you. I know your past, present, and future. There will never be a moment when I'm not watching over you."

I like a variety of books and one of these is devotionals. They’re often short readings to encourage and inspire and you can easily read one in a few minutes. I like Holley Gerth's style of writing and this devotional is encouraging and inspirational. I was excited to receive a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I appreciate how Holley shares real life scenarios and feelings and emotions and applies gentle words and truths to dispel the discouragement and lies the devil wants us to believe. Here's a little of the layout in the devotional ~ Each chapter starts with YOU or YOU’RE. Here are some of them……….. You’re Not Invisible. Your God is Good All the Time. You Have Something Valuable to Give. You Can Take God at His Word. You Really Are Forgiven. Under each title, there is a negative thought/lie listed along with a woman’s name and under that is the truth from the Bible along with a woman from the Bible. Then it lists verses to read from the Scriptures. The devotional part is next beginning with a story or event or feelings from the woman listed at the beginning. After the devotional reading, it ends with a Truth Your Heart Needs section. This section contains four questions and space for you to write in answers if you’d like. In Chapter 15, “You Have Something Valuable to Give”, here are the thoughts and layout. “I don’t have much to offer.” -Shannon “God can use whatever I have to give.” -the widow who gave two coins. Read Mark 12:41-44

This devotional was wonderful! Holley reminded us as women that we are already amazing. God uses the weak and broken things and makes something beautiful. Each reading had reflective questions to help you ponder lies that you believe about yourself and then a truth that you can replace it with. I enjoyed reading real-life and Biblical examples of how women struggle with knowing their identity and how they overcome that. Highly recommend!
