There's a new sheriff in Fallbrook … Meet Dylan McBride.

Jessie Thompson had one hell of a week. Dylan McBride, the boy she loved, skipped town without a word. Then her drunk of a father tried to kill her, and she fled Fallbrook, vowing never to return.

Eight years later, her father is dead, and Jessie reluctantly goes home—only to come face-to-face with the man who shattered her heart. A man who, for nearly a decade, believed she was dead.

Dylan accepted the position as sheriff of Fallbrook looking for a fresh start and a chance to uncover the truth about Jessie's disappearance. He knew he'd have to face a few ghosts … he just never thought one would be Jessie, all grown up, stunning … and alive.

The pull between them is instant, but Dylan's heart has already mourned Jessie, and she has secrets she can never share. Can they escape the darkness of their past for a chance at a bright future together?

Dylan's story was as equally amazing as the other two books in this series, and I really enjoyed getting know his character. It was great to see that the author also made sure to update us on the other characters from previous the books as well. These books are very well written with strong male characters that will melt your heart and have you cheering for them the whole way through the book! I highly recommend you give this series a try...you will not be disappointed!

This is the third book in the series. I've previously read and reviewed the first two. there may be spoilers about those books in this review, so reader beware. Return of Brody McBride Falling for Owen This is soap opera in novel form, so if that isn't what you are in the mood for, you probably won't enjoy this story. There's over the top plot lines, calamity after calamity, characters monaloguing at each other rather than actual dialogue, and an oblivious hero who can't see that two plus two equals four. That's not to say I didn't like it, I did, but having read the previous two I knew what I was in for. Dylan McBride (cousin to the previous two McBride boys) thinks that Jessie Thompson, the woman he loved in high school, is dead and that her father killed her and got away with it. When Mr. Thompson drops dead, Dylan and the whole town finally learned that Jessie is actually alive, has been living in the next town over, and actually DOES BUSINESS in her hometown. See, as I said, total soap opera. Much like in Return of Body McBride, we have a heroine who has practically been in stasis since he left, and a hero who wasn't quite so pure. This isn't thrown in our faces quite as much with Dylan, and frankly, Dylan wasn't quite so bad (but then he also didn't have that sort of history that would make me forgive him as much so it evens out), and Jessie kind of had more reason than most to shut herself away from men. What I really liked about this story was how much each of them, but particularly Jessie, had accomplished on their own. They had lives, and careers, and friends and families of sort of their own. Yes, they have secrets and mis-communications and Dylan has to have an anvil dropped on his head because delicate hints that are like two by fours across the head just were not helping him discover her secrets, this is soap opera land after all. Still, I enjoyed reading about them and how they got together and dealt with their pasts. And this book, being the closing of the trilogy also clears up a lot of why the McBride brothers' pasts were the way they were. And while this particular book doesn't have the same kind of dangerous villain the previous two did, the villains were satisfyingly over the top bad and the resolution was equally satisfying and I was pleased with the happily ever after, as even with all the soap opera-esque elements, that part felt real to me. 3.5 stars and I'd recommend this series to anyone with a yen for soap opera on paper.

A second chance love story that will break your heart as fast as it will mend it. Dylan and Jessie go through a lot of physical and emotional hardships in this book and really twisted my heart every way imaginable. I loved the story, loved the characters and loved the strength of both Jessie and Dylan.  The McBrides sure know how to capture my heart. These men have been forged in the fires of their deeply shattered pasts, shaping them into strong, hardworking men with hearts full of unconditional love.  I did notice that some of the dialogue was drawn out and repeated but it didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the story. I’m wondering whose book is next. Will the series end here or is there another McBride waiting in the wings? Oh! Or…will there be a time jump and we get to see the McBride children as adults??? I’m curious to see what direction the author will take. This story is not a light-hearted happily ever after; it’s a deeply painful journey of loss, regret, betrayal, abuse and sorrow. But the strongest and most pure form of love is that which has endured all these things and more and is still unbreakable. I invite you to experience Dylan and Jessie’s story. ***I was gifted an eBook copy from the publisher via Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review. All conclusions reached are my own***

"Dylan's Redemption" is a beautifully written story of two people, Dylan and Jessie, that will find their way back to each other after years of being apart. I had a hard time wrapping my head around a parent that would go to such extremes to keep two people apart with dire consequences and still try to defend it. The emotion in this story is beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. This is a story that you will need to keep the tissues close by, as it is a real tearjerker. It is a must read for lovers of sweet romance and emotionally charged stories. 5 Stars!!

Jessie and Dylan had a thing 8 years ago. One night led to something else that turned into an emotional roller coaster. But let's back up a little for more of a backstory. After Jessie and Dylan had their night of bow-chicka-wow-wow, Dylan kind of ignored Jessie since he was leaving for the military and nothing really should come up of it. Then Jessie has a crazy incident with her jerk of a father and leaves town without a word to anyone. Fast forward and she's back in town. I really enjoyed the emotional journey between Dylan and Jessie. Jessie was a strong female character who I thoroughly enjoyed. A self-made woman. Dylan was a sexy sheriff with a heart of gold who wanted to do anything he could to win Jessie back. At one point I remember I was even shedding some tears. The bumpy road to their HEA I enjoyed immensely. This is when love for Jennifer Ryan books began!

Dylan seemed kind of dense at first. Secondary character needs a story (greg) and i was hoping that dylans parents could have seen the pic of hope. Parents' part in dylan's life concerning hope didnt seem complete altho i cant imagine dylan coyld ever forgive his mother for keeping hope a secret. I would have liked to read about his parents' come-uppance in detail since everything else was described in detail over and over and over.

I enjoyed this addition to the series, but with the slowness of the stories didn't like it quite as much. Still a good read, and love the ending

My favorite of this series. I loved Jessie. She is strong and straight forward. She didn't let the past handicap her future and in fact turned it around to inspire her. It was also good to see how Rain & Brody as well as Claire and Owen are doing. I'm happy that the family dynamics between the three has gotten better. Hope there is more (pretty please)

I really thought this book would not be as good as the first 2. I was so wrong because I believe it was the best one. Get out your tissues.

Wish there were more McBride men... Ms Ryan really "hit it out of the ball park" with the three stories of Brody, Owen and Dylan... Loved each book and wish there were more to come... Loved the strong cowboys and their women... Original story lines and excellent character development... Also liked the fact that main and secondary characters carried through the three books... Very enjoyable...
