PLEASE NOTE: This book is continued in book two. If you enjoy a cliff hanger ending this book is for you.
After the death of her beloved cousin, Lana Andrews has to get away to be alone, to grieve. She rents a quaint little beach house in
Plymouth MA. Little does she know she would meet that one special love, an unexpected love. That one true love is Mike Ramsey, and he's a U.S. Marshal and the beach house owner.
As their love grows, so do their troubles. Someone is stalking Lana, and Mike has to figure out who it is before the stalker gets her. Not only does he have to protect her, he must find the connection between Lana and the stalker before it's too late. They soon find out this man desperately wants Lana, and he'll go through any lengths for that to happen. Mike's team finds out how desperate this man is when he starts murdering innocent people.
Being a U.S. Marshal for years, he knows how to protect people. This time was different. This time, the victim is someone he deeply loves. No matter what, he will do what it takes to protect his beautiful Lana. Once he finds out the name of the stalker—he is not so sure he can.

About the Author

I was born in California to two hard working parents, Bob and Ann. My mom was a housewife and Dad worked for Whirlpool. With luck on my side, I was the second of four girls. Some people hated being the middle child, but I loved it. I didn't have the responsibilities of the oldest nor coddled like the youngest. Anyway, my father's job moved us all over the US, and finally we ended up back to our roots—Oklahoma. We settled in Tulsa, and I went to Daniel Webster High School through my junior year. Unfortunately my parents divorced, and I went my last year of high school to Spiro High, the home of the Bulldogs. Even though my parents divorced, and even though I moved my senior year, I didn't mind. I had returned home. All the family lived in the area, so I always had someone to hang out with. Besides, I spent many summers visiting my grandmother, so her home became my second home. My memories of visiting Granny is where the idea of The Party Line originated. Once I graduated from High School I wanted to vist a gigantic continent. So I ended up in Texas. Hey... it's big. Settling in Huntsville, I went to Sam Houston State University and got a MBA. I met my husband and had two children, Cody and Victoria. Many years later I divorced and moved to the Blue Ridge Mountains. I love it here but still travel when I get the chance. Cape Cod, Oklahoma, and Europe are a few places I enjoy. Sitting on the mountain top is where most of my ideas develop. There's nothing more romantic than viewing the range of mountains with light snow falling.

Wow! I usually don't like sequel books, but this was free on smashwords, so I thought what the heck. It was worth the read. I don't think I have ever cried so much as I did with this book. I've bought the other two and can't wait to find out the ending. I will definitely buymore from this author.

One of the best trilogies I've read. That's what I love about trilogies, it's like a long book. I have to admit I figured out some of the ending. Half was a shocker. If you want a great book snuggled on the couch, this is the one for you. You will cry, laugh, and want to flip to the back. It was well worth the 6 bucks for all three books. I liked the way every book was different. The first book was all about an unexpected love…yum. The second was about the hunt…go get 'em. The third was about Marquits revenge… look out Mike he wants you dead!

A great read to curl up with on a stormy day. Plot may be a little rough in spots but moves along quickly with great detail of US Marshalls team and work. Even the trauma scenes show attention to detail and are mostly accurate. Looking forward to reading remainder of the trilogy and hoping the end I have in mind comes true.

Keep me up all night! If a book can keep up all night, it's gotta be good. There were a few places a little rough as far as grammar, but nothing that took away from the story. Overall, it's a great book.

It may sound cheezy the way it is written but it is a really good book with a touching storyline about finding true love late in life and living every day to the fullest for you never know when it will end.

Great book! This one is a keeper. I'm always willing to try a new author when the book is free or discounted. This one didn't disappoint. All three books are well written and entertaining. I fell in love with the characters, and the plot was awesome.

I loved the book. I hated the ending but have secret hopes it's not what it seems. A few mistakes, but not as many as other books, but nothing that takes away from the story.

A well written love story.... I think this is one of the best books (trilogies) I've read in a long time. I've read all three. The ending in the third book is much better than the first. Those of you who want a weekend of great reading -- these are the books. It has stalking, love, death, chasing, hiding, and hunky men. You'll laugh, cry, gasp, and want to throw your nook across the room. I do wish Lora would write more than the three books using Mike's team. There are so many possibilities with it... oh well.

I became hooked after several chapters of this novel and couldn't wait to finish it and now I'm on the 3rd book. I find myself not wanting to put it down and find out what's going to happen in the end. The books hold my interest all the way through and there's never a dull moment. Love them all!

A great book, and what an ending. At first I thought it was another ho-hum love story. Then, bam, the story turned into a whodunit. Then, bam again, murder, intrigue, the chase, love, hunky federal agents. Then, bam again, an ending I cried for an hour. I can't wait to read the next two. If they are half as good as this one, I'm in for treat .... and a box of tissue.

The author has an engrossing writing style; I read each one right after the last. Her characters are quite well drawn - you become very involved in their lives. Excellent read.
