About the Author

I grew up in New England surrounded by a lot of history and story telling by my father who was from the Mid-Coast of Maine. What I remember of my mother was her love of fairy tales, the wee people and poetry. So it’s no wonder I would one day write. I actually started writing at a very young age, mostly poetry but I loved playing with words. I also loved books and before I even learned to read I would sit and pour over the books that had belonged to my mother. Works by writers such as Dante and Shakespeare filled the shelves. When I was about 6, I remember trying to read a first edition copy of Ivanhoe that belonged to her. So what does this author do when she isn't writing? Well I write 7 days a week, early in the morning but when not writing I love to read, knit (so I don't kill people... except in my books), chase around all my animals, there are way too many. I drink a lot of tea to keep me going, some people call me a tea snob. I love great tea like some people like great coffee, beer or wine. I love great tequila but reserve drinking that with one friend of mine. If you enjoy my books, tell your friends and family. Say hi over at my Facebook author page or my website.

Really good book. My husband is a firefighter so I also took note of how the author mentioned the gear and what she called everything. Made me happy so see things mentioned in the right way. The story was well written and I really liked the characters. The two cats were hilarious. I have a tortie as well and a black one named Midnight. It reminded me of them so much. Can't wait to read the next books.

Cute story, if a little flat. But seriously lacking in editing to the point that it is distracting. Sentences that make little sense, or are repeats of the one before.

This could have been a cute story, but it's very thin both in writing style and in plot. Almost as if the author was working from an outline and forgot to flesh it out. On the surface the characters could be interesting, but there are so few details they are shallow and boring. So if you are satisfied with he said she said he did this she did that, it might be worth the effort. Otherwise it's a yawner.

Boring

This was a nice story, but not as good as others I've read of hers. Some sex and a lot of laughs. She does a lot of repeating though. Explaining things the reader already knows is boring.

Firy, Witchy, Sometimes Funny Romance with some Mystery!! Great read!! I received this book as an ARC book from Authors and Books Haven Services in exchange for an honest review. Some romance, comedy, mystery, excitement! I loved this book. It kept me on the edge of my seat, wondering what was going to happen next. Enjoyed all of the characters, even the cats. You have Emma (a fire-started witch), Cas ( a hunky firefighter, Paul & Kathy(life-long friends), Aunt Tiny & her coven, and of course, old Mrs. Crabtree. Wonderful, funny romance. I couldn't put it down. I would definitely recommend this book. You will enjoy it. Great read. I could go on and on about this book, but I don't like to give the story away! It's so much better to read it on your own.

I loved this incredible cute story!!! What do you do when every time you see the hot new guy in town you start a fire?  Emma Brewster was born a fire-starter witch but her powers get twitchy whenever she sees a hot guy, and man is the new fire fighter Cas O’Halloran hot.  She tries her best to avoid him but fate has other plans.  To make matters worse Emma's familiar Midnight isn't crazy about the budding relationship.  Definitely a page-turner, funny, sweet and hot!

A Highly Enjoyable read by the lovely Mary Moriarty. It's full of magic, romance and mayhem. Emma is not your typical hereditary witch, she is a fire witch which cause unwanted side effects when she meets the hunky new fireman Cas. Attracted to Cas cause poor Emma to start spark fires from her finger tips, so she starts to avoid him at all coast. Help is at hand through her Aunt and her best friend Kathy plus her brother Paul who happens to also be a fireman. The three are determined to bring these two together but once that happens will Cas be able to cope when he find out he has fallen in love with a Witch plus there is the wicked neighbour plotting to destroy Emma once and for all.

What a fun, quirky romance just in time for Halloween! Perfect cover art, fits the story! Baking, sexy, corset wearing witch has the hots for the new firefighter, but will it burn up to quick? Or will Miss Crabtree be the cause? This was a great read and I enjoyed it beginning to end. One of my many favorite parts was with Aunt Tiny, helping out while having tea. (This book was received as a gift by the author)

I have been a fan of Mary Moriarty for several years now, and when this book came out…I jumped on it.  I love the way she develops her characters and their interactions with each other.  There is romance, paranormal characters and a HEA.  I also love the fact that she incorporates her own life into her stories.  The 2 familiars…Mika and Midnight are taken from her own cats.  Also, the fact that she was a volunteer Firefighter added authenticity and uniqueness to the story.  I loved the steamy relationship between Emma and Cas, and the fact that Emma was trying to hide that she was a witch with unique powers was a hoot to read.  It is a feel-good book and it will capture the reader’s heart.  I really enjoyed the town of Cadwell Harbor – a perfect small New England town! I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a sweet and funny story and for the “good guys” to win.  Bravo Mary…you did it again!!!

A little spark of brilliance from author Mary Moriarty. In the little town of Cadwell Harbor, Maine we meet Emma Brewster. Her family has lived here for generations and is well known by everyone in the quaint little town. Everyone also knows, and accepts, that the Brewsters’ are witches. Everyone, except for Violet Crabtree, the old biddy who lives across the street from Emma, and now, the towns newest firefighter, Cas O’Halloran. The story revolves around Emma and Cas, who has a few secrets of his own. They meet at the bagel shop and are instantly attracted to one another. Emma is a fire starter witch and when she is attracted to someone she cannot control her powers. This does not bode well for the town of Cadwell so Emma enlists the help of her Aunt Tiny, in Boston. Aunt Tiny casts a spell over Emma that will allow her to be near and to get to know Cas without losing control of her powers and causing major damage to herself, Cas, or the town. She falls, hard, for Cas and knows that she needs to tell him what she is, but wants to wait for the right moment to do so. Emma’s two familiars, Midnight and Mika, are very protective of her and do not want the hunky fire fighter breaking her heart. Cas was born and raised in New Orleans and has a few special qualities of his own, but he never speaks of them. He has performed some miraculous rescues in his career but no one has ever questioned them. Now, he has fallen head over heels in love with Emma and is ready to settle permanently in Cadwell Harbor and take over for the Chief when he is ready to step down. As he and Emma grow closer Midnight takes matters into his own paws and gives Cas the shock of his life, successfully putting out the spark between the lovebirds. Violet Crabtree, Emmas neighbor, comes from a family who has been out to get the Brewsters’ since the 1600’s. Old Violet has a few tricks up her sleeve too, and having been rejected by Emma’s grandfather she is determined to get rid of Emma and the Brewster home once and for all. Watch out for sparks of another kind here. I love Mary Moriarty’s writing. Her characters are so well fleshed out that you feel like you know them personally, and you experience their emotions right along with them. The story line, for me, was very unique and piqued my interest from page one right on through to the end. There is a lot of humor in this story and I found myself giggling, a lot at Emma’s antics and predicaments. There is also great chemistry between the main characters, causing a lot of heat. If you’re looking for a fun, fall read Emma Brewster: Too Hot to Handle will definitely ignite a lot of warmth in your heart.

Emma Brewster comes from a long line of witches and her power is that of a fire-starter! The problem she faces with that is when she gets close to a man she is attracted to…she starts fires! This makes things so difficult to have a love life that Emma steers clear of all men until she meets the new Lieutenant at the fire station! It seems where ever she goes she runs into the tall…dark and handsome Cas O’Halloran. Sparks fly (literally) between the two and things really start to heat up when Emma asks her Aunt Ernestine, better known as Aunt Tiny to send some help her way to keep her fire starting under control. This story has it all…witch craft…romance…suspense…and fun! With a great group of characters you can’t help but like. There is Emma and Cas the two main characters, Kathy who is Emma’s best friend since they were young, Paul, Kathy’s brother and fellow firefighter of Cas’, loving Aunt Ernestine and Mrs. Crabtree who is bound and determined to cause nothing but trouble for poor Emma! This was such a great story filled with laugh out loud moments…Oh No’s…a few romantic encounters and also had me on the edge of my seat at times! I absolutely loved it! I definitely recommend this story to anyone looking for a fun…light story to read! Thank you Mary Moriarty for writing such a wonderful story that helped me escape reality for a while!
