About the Author

Sally Nelson is the Dean of Baptist Formation at St Hild College, Yorkshire, UK, where she also teaches Christian doctrine and pastoral care. She is a Baptist minister and has been the commissioning editor for Encounter with God since 2015.
Alison Lo is retiring in her home city, Hong Kong, after being abroad for more than two decades. She has been an Old Testament faculty lecturer at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, London School of Theology, Singapore Baptist Theological Seminary and Bethel Seminary, Minnesota.
Paul Oakley has taught theology in Nigeria, in Sheffield with Church Army and the diocese’s School of Ministry, and recently with St Barnabas Theological Centre. He has also been in leadership in local churches, including as a vicar in three different parishes. His interests include cricket, football and eating curries.
Julie Woods is an Old Testament lecturer who concentrates on the Majority World, though she also teaches in the UK. This includes an ongoing commitment with the Guildford diocese. Her research interests centre mainly around the prophets and also animals.
Peter Morden is Principal of Bristol Baptist College, UK. He has pastored churches in Solihull and Leeds, and has authored a number of books on discipleship and church history. He is married to Cheryl and they make their home in Bristol.
Isaac O'Brien is a Content Assistant at Scripture Union and the content manager of Encounter with God. He is passionate about the Bible, theology and Jesus, and loves leading worship in church.
Ray Porter is a retired member of OMF International. Until 2013, he was Director of World Mission Studies at Oak Hill Theological College. He is an Anglican minister and lives in St Neots, Cambridgeshire.
"Having been on the staff of SU England and Wales for nearly 30 years, Terry now lives with his wife Sue in Norfolk. They both help train children’s leaders in their local church, but at other times Terry enjoys reading, writing, visiting historical sites and entertaining their young grandsons, and has recently got back to playing the recorder for the first time in 35 years – Terry and Sue are currently on pretty good terms with their neighbours!"
Vinod is the chaplain of the Anglican Church in Freiburg and the Area Dean of Germany. He is also chair of CMS–Asia. Before moving to Germany, Vinod served in various congregations in India and Australia, and has a history of ecumenical and missional engagement.
