End Mass Assault in School
With its tactical implementation I believe we will see a kinder, more relaxed and liberating form of educating and learning inside our classrooms because we will stop merely talking about mass violence, and actually make our schools safer. We will enable a first-line-of-defense to protect our children and staff without implementing martial law. 'We will Evolve!'

The absolute horror of a school shooting wherever it erupts is beyond comprehension. A person without empathy carrying a gun is a frightening thought, and there are no words, vigils, or prayers that can mend the loss of those taken in such a way. So violent, so awful, so pointless. Our leaders fail to make any real tactical change that would thwart such attacks. Instead of flooding our despair with the myriad of variables about motives after the fact, we must focus on solving the problem in the moments when chaos and panic crashes into the present. I submit we can be prepared.

I offer my insight of a third-option for our Third Millennium, protecting our students and staff in a 'middle way' that isn't being discussed. This offers more than hope to protect our schools by implementing existing, tactical, easy-to-use, powerful, life-saving tools in our schools to prepare our teachers and staff to protect their classrooms as onsite-responders in the gap-of-time before armed first responders can engage.

About the Author

I have freely discovered that instead of PTSD, I am an 'Empath' and that without filter, deflection, and conscious coping tools I can feel the real pain energy of those around me; a crowd or noisy restaurant can become irritating, if not near debilitating. Being an introvert in an extroverted world is not an easy existence. Likely many of your students and associates live the same reality. But empathy is what compelled me to start writing and problem solving mass-assault after the horrors of Sandy Hook Elementary. It seems only like yesterday, because there have been so many more since. I believe only collective empathy, matched with organized action will lead us to answers. I present a workable solution, but know that without organizational implementation mass-assaults will continue in schools and elsewhere. But, I can't think of another setting better than a school or district to be so organized as to implement it.
