Enma by Alex Hughes

It was dark.
A voice said.
"I need you to sleep."
"Why?" he said, defiant as always.
"You will see, soon enough."
It was a feathery whisper in the darkness. He thought, 'what the heck,' and continued to dream.
A face appeared. Fine lips, pale skin and big blue eyes. It was a woman, her hair as black as the abyss around her.
"What is your name?" she asked.
"What's it to you?"
"It's taken a very long time to find you."
"How do you know I'm who you're looking for?"
"You had just the right dreams. I know who you are."
Now that he thought about it, she looked eerily familiar. He hated to admit to himself that he was frightened by it.
"My name is Orphenn" he relented.
She laughed. She only laughed.

What if there was never another world?
What if it's just...A different dream?

About the Author

Hopeless romantic, adventurer and shower serenader, Alex Hughes was born in Salt Lake City and has always had a love for stories, in any form they may take. Stories come in movies, video games, television shows, and many other forms apart from the written word, but it was through this media that Alex discovered her calling. The act of writing itself, as well as the meanings the words convey bring more joy to her than she can describe. In fact, she started early. She wrote her first book at the age of eight (granted it was written in green crayon on copy paper but it was a start) and she has kept a detailed journal since she was a preteen.

Enma began in her middle school days, having been finished the summer after her sophomore year. It is her debut novel.
