I liked this book but something was missing and I can’t explain exactly what that is. Overall I’d recommend it but when compared to other books that I’ve rated at four stars, this doesn’t hold up. Alexis is a successful business owner that is still recovering from her divorce. Leo is the employee that she can’t stop fantasizing about. Alexis believes she had her one chance at a HEA and isn’t looking for anything more than a one night stand. I liked how the roles were reversed and the female was the one pushing for the one nighter and the male was the one who wanted something more. I thought their connection was solid and you could feel their chemistry jumping off the pages. I think this is a good start for a debut novel and I am looking forward to Emily’s story in Entice. - He left me. I was too proud to run after him, so I fell apart behind him.

3.5 Star Review This book started out really well. Alexis, strong heroine who had been hurt in the past, hooks up with her hot new employee Leo who is equally sworn off relationships as well. The two figure one time, sex only, and no strings attached or interference with work. Yeah, like that ever works. What junk food company had the slogan, "Can't stop with just one"? Obviously, the two had the best sex ever and despite their efforts to keep up with the original agreement, they go back for more. The agreement then changes and exclusivity becomes involved and then wouldn't you know one goes and ruins it by saying something like "can't this be more than just sex?" How dare they. Now scattered among the relationship are repeat encounters with Leo's crazy ex and Alexis's best friends cousin who is not willing to give up after Alexis friend zones him. This all adds up to create a lot of unnecessary drama which honestly wasn't even really that dramatic. And Leo's past with his ex really made it hard for me to buy that he was not just in serious lust with Alexis. After all some really great chemistry with Katy ended up with her inadvertently living with him. I guess the exclusivity was different, but I don't know. He just wasn't a hero I was swooning for. Now the book has some really great moments. The chemistry of the couple is really great. Moments like Olivia having her baby were really tender and added emotion to the book. She was a great friend. Unfortunately, not as big a fan of Alexis' sister Emily. She was too crude for me and not very likable. Not sure I want to read the next book as she is the heroine. Overall, the book was good but seemed like it could have been so much better.

In Entangle, we meet with Alexis Stone, a successful business woman running her own business who, unfortunately wasn’t as lucky in love as she’s been in business. After a messy divorce, she swears off love for a while, deciding she might as well spend the rest of her life on her own. Leo Conrad is one of her employees, very handsome, but unfortunately not quite lucky in love either, as he had his heart broken in the past, and is now being stalked by a crazy ex. Alexis and Leo have an almost tangible attraction between them, and from one thing comes another, and they hook up. It starts off as casual sex for both of them, at least that’s how they intended it, but it doesn’t stay with that. Instead of going away, the attraction between them only grows, and they start becoming almost addicted to one another. The romance was steamy, and for the first part of the book, very enjoyable to read about. Then the drama got added in, and I enjoyed reading about how both characters dealt with it in ways that were consistent with their personality: Leo going all alpha male, and Alexis falling into her old insecurities. It was like they went right back to the start, and then had to work to find each other again. It was a good move, showing that love isn’t always easy, and sometimes you have to struggle through things to get there. Both characters were engaging, but Alexis was my favorite of the two of them. The secondary characters were all right too. The writing worked, and the story was entertaining. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Alexis was deeply hurt when her husband left her so she throws herself into her work and controlling the world around her. Leo is curious about learning more about Alexis but can he break down the walls she has put up around her heart. Great read, sexy and the story is emotional and grabs your attention. A well rounded romance.
