Ethics of the Undead
Vampires pose questions on love, diversity and religion in the Sawtooth Mountains

This tongue-in-cheek tale of romance, adventure and sacrifice among the bloodthirsty vampires of the Sawtooth Wilderness poses questions about love, diversity and religion in modern America.

Deep in Idaho’s Sawtooth Wilderness, there is a charter school for adolescent vampires where:

Edna LittleHawk teaches Ethics and American History from the Shoshone point of view
Giuseppe Vendetta teaches Music after a successful career as a Mafia hit man.
Isadore Finkelstein offers guidance, now that he’s semi-retired, both as a NASCAR driver and Orthodox Jew.
And their nemesis, language teacher Bartholomew Baneful has given up on God and directs the Satanic Legion.

When four “normal” teens and a Shakespearean actor are recruited to fool federal inspectors, keeping them safe until inspection day becomes a faculty problem:

The Satanists want them “bled and dead.”
Conrad, a high school quarterback turned vampire, wants 16 year-old Kathy to become his bride.
The phys ed teacher is using the “normals” as practice prey in a hunting class.

Then a vampire is found in the student lounge with a sharpened pool cue through his heart, and Kathy and her friend Lionel are put on trial for murder. In a vampire court. With a kidnapped gymnastic team as a jury. What about Ethics and Guidance? What about escape?
