All is lost.
I don't recognize myself in the mirror anymore.
My thoughts are filled with hatred and dripping with rage.
I've lost my soul.
She took it to the depths of hell with her and haunts me with images of what could have been.
Sixty lives are mine to take.
Sixty lives stand in the way of my vengeance.
Sixty lives, plus one more.
When the last drop of blood falls--mine will be spilled.
Only one person stands in the way.
She doesn't realize I'll kill her too.
I don't own a heart.
And even if I did--I wouldn't fall prey to it's lies again.
I am Chase Abandonato.
Heir to a legacy of betrayal.
And I will kill them all.
Even if it means pointing the gun at myself.
A life for a life.
A soul for a soul.
Now I lay me down to sleep...I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
Blood in. No out.

This book was really a great read, you get sucked in right away. I loved Chase and Luciana’s story. I laughed out loud so many times people were probably wondering what I was reading, also sad and very strong message of the Family. You did it again Rachel,

I love this series. I keep thinking each book is the best but then the next book is just as terrific, Once I start each book I just can't put it down until the end. I noticed a lot of typos in this book but it is still great!

I am so blissfully wrung out! I believe with certainty that every release by this amazing author is her best work yet. My expectations are always blown away. I need more like an addict chasing my next high. Cannot wait to read what comes next. Rachel your words are life! I laughed. I ugly cried (and got the side eye from my husband because he doesn't know how to handle tears) and had full on snotty face and hiccupping. My heart was shredded. My hate grew exponentially for the betrayer who left our charming, funny, loyal and loving Chase obliterated so completely. Is there any coming back from this? Why yes, yes there is. By the end I was euphoric - exhilarated. Thank goodness. Luciana is both a trigger and a catalyst for redemption. She's a young, beautiful, innocent lawyer hand picked and sent to work for the families. She's completely oblivious to their titles, status or line of business. Little by little she connects the dots and breaks through Chase's wall of armor. It's not sunshine and rainbows. It's gritty and a bit terrifying. The build up of electrifying angst is expertly written. Perfectly paced. Every word expressing extraordinary detail and fore thought. The intricate web amongst these families and characters - I kiss my fingertips - intoxicating, fascinating, incredible, spectacular. I can't find the right words. This story is everything. Their journey is jam packed - self sacrifice - pain - redemption - healing - love. Gah just everything plus some that I've come to expect in an Eagle Elite book and from this incredibly talented author. This series keeps getting better and better! I can't believe at 9 books in I am still as mesmerized as ever by this cast of gritty, hardcore, bad donkey, loyal, mafia mo fo's. I feel like I have lived these last several years inside the books since reading Elite. Living each and every nuance. Relationship. Marriage. Death. Betrayal. And the saga continues - need more now!

After the horrible betrayal of his deceased wife Chase is left a shell filled with anger and violence with the need to avenge and purge the betrayers from the families. His rampage cannot go unchecked or the families will fall. Then Nikolai sends a sweet smart innocent into the lion's den to learn all about the families inorder to replace their elderly lawyer. Growing up an orphan Luciana knows nothing of the families or why her host is so angry and violent, but soon sees the savage beast he shows is layered over a more caring soul. If only she can bring him back to be the man he can be once vengence is put aside. This was deeply engaging with many secrets waiting to be revealed. My heart ached for all the family, but especially for Chase in his anguish. A more perfect match could not be made then Luciana to heal his torn soul.

The ending to Enrage left me reeling, and in a state of shock. I couldn't wait to see where this talented author would take us next, and she didn't disappoint. Eulogy is an intense, emotional, dark, gritty and raw tale of heartbreak and destruction. The intrigue, action and suspense will keep you completely enthralled, and the twists and turns, and revelations just keep coming. Eulogy not only captured my attention, but my heart and I couldn't put it down. Chase Winters Abandonato's is hurt, betrayed, but most of all he's bitter full of rage. His life is spiraling out of control, in his thirst for revenge. Gone is the vibrant, charismatic, and optimistic joker from the previous titles in the series. He's broken, battered and bruised, and is intent on death and destruction. Luciana Smith is implanted into Chase's household by Dr. Nikolia as the new lawyer for the families. Luc is an enigmatic character, whilst she's naïve, sweet, innocent and anxious, underneath hides a steely backbone that is incredibly selfless, loyal, resilient and loving. Chase is given a second chance at love with Luc, but their path is far from smooth. Although Luciana and Chase are complete opposites, her the light to his darkness, they work really well together. Their chemistry is intense, and their connection is passionate. This pair are incredibly endearing and oh so inspiring. I absolutely loved the interactions, communications and banter between the characters. Ranging from fun and flirtatious, to sarcastic, dry and witty, to dark and emotionless. This is a mafia romance so it's not all roses and sunshine, there is copious amounts of blood, gore, violence and death and it's told from multiple points of view, and is riddled with angst. Eulogy is a story of forgiveness, healing and acceptance and Rachel Van Dyken has once again written a novel that surpassed my expectations. For anyone who loves the Eagle Elite series, I cannot recommend Eulogy highly enough. I would recommend reading the previous titles in this series, prior to reading Eulogy or you will not get the full impact of the revelations throughout this title.

Where have I been? I’m not new too Rachel Van Dyken, but this was my first look into the Eagle Elite series and I loved it! Chase Abandonato was an amazing character, scary, unpredictable and so heartbroken his senses are practically in a complete meltdown, his soul is damaged which strengthens his hate. Luciana is sent to work with him, but he continually makes her uncomfortable, pushing her away, even threatening her life. Will she ever overcome her misgivings and fear towards him. And can Chase allow her glowing heart into his and brighten and mend his deep dark soul. A fantastic story, full of twists and turns drawing the reader into a World of violence and ultimate loyalty. I was enthralled from start to finish with this tale. The plot was expertly written with charismatic characters many presumably from previously novels. I intend to rectify my faux pas and now read the previous books, as Eulogy is a novel not to be missed and I highly recommend it!

Received an ARC at no cost to author. I am sighing out loud. It was good, it was emotional, it was enlightening. At first Rachel scared me a little, I was yelling no no no, and thankfully she didn't. When this book comes out you need to read and then you will know what I am talking about.. are you wondering? Well you should be, I can't give spoilers, it would be disastrous to you, the only thing I will say is that Victoria said my favorite thing "he loves you more than you live him." Damn, that was too true

OH MY GOD!!! Where do I even begin? I mean, I don't give 5 stars lightly...I mean that. Almost all my reviews are 4-stars or less because they're good, but they aren't spectacular. Well, the author did it...AGAIN!! How does she weave this witchcraft you might ask and I'm convinced she's just one blessed woman. Oh the feels in this book - you get several points of view and while I did want some more from certain characters...I was happy with what I got. She left me feeling all good inside and I loved Luciana...She was one strong chick even though she really wasn't and to find out she was who she was - WHOO BOY!! Chase, oh Chase, dude you are one screwed up guy, but we love you so hard that it doesn't matter that you want to wipe an entire bloodline out because we'll help you!! What I really loved about this is that the heroine is strong yet she will hide in the pantry when the bullets are flying and not be ashamed of that fact. That would be me! I'm not ashamed of that - I will be the first to say...I will hide in the pantry with some fruit roll-ups and wait it out. I'm not getting into the fray when men come in with guns. I said in my review of the last book that the author couldn't outdo herself, but after reading this book - this was a really great book with twists and turns, but take to heart that this isn't for the 18 and under crowd or faint of heart. There's a lot of killing, blood and gore. I was shocked at how much and I was pretty much prepared for it. If you've read the entire series, then you've GOT to read this and if you've tiptoed around the series and read a book here and there then you need to read them in order. It's just the way of the mafia world. An ARC copy was provided for free or at a discount by the publisher without expectation or any attempt to influence or manipulate this review. Any opinions expressed are my own and do not reflect anyone else's.

*It is highly recommended to read the entire Eagle Elite series prior to Eulogy as this book contains spoilers to the previous books* Chase Abandonato is a shell of the man he once was. He gave his heart and soul to the person he believed would stand by him through everything. And she betrayed him. Now his only focus is ridding the world of every last De Lange in existence. Luciana Smith is offered a job she can’t refuse. Thrown in to the world of the mafia with no clarification as to who she is dealing with, she is given an immediate lesson in the dangers of associating with the Cosa Nostra. But, the biggest danger she may face is her new roommate… ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You. must. read. this. book. I was completely gutted after the continuation of Chase’s story in Enrage. Eulogy has picked my jaw up off the floor as it has forged a new path for the five families… leaving a dark trail of blood in it’s wake… Chase has never truly had someone who wanted him for him. Rejected again and again for what he truly wants, he is finished with asking permission for the retribution he is owed. The last thing he needs is a woman in his home cowering at the reality of the life he was born into. Luciana is the personification of innocence that Chase’s life has never afforded him. For someone who is severely petrified of the life and the job she finds herself in, she also has the backbone and the wherewithal to hopefully survive it all. This book was a dark and churning story of the ultimate betrayal and a new beginning that comes out of nowhere.. if only Chase can find the desire to climb out of his dark pit of hatred long enough to recognize it… I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.

3.5 STARS! After Enrage, I was so, so, SO unbelievably sad for Chase. In Eulogy, he is the shell of a man he once was... so angry and bitter and out for revenge... out for revenge against the De Lange family who took everything away from him. The families are in need of a new lawyer and in comes Luciana Smith. And sadly for her, she has zero idea of what she’s about to step into when she agrees without any research to take this job, only thinking about how it will benefit her family. I liked Luc... her sweet innocence, her loyalty, her honor... she was a good distraction for Chase because she made him see his worth... she made him feel things he has never felt before. But what happens when he has days to live and can’t promise anything more? Will he ever escape the hell he has put himself through because he deserves so much more than he has allowed for himself? Well of course you will have to read this book to find out! I enjoyed this book... Luc’s strength, Chase’s finding himself. As a whole I truly love this mafia series. For me though, sometimes I still get lost and confused over the number of characters and what has happened to whom so it’s hard to keep up. But RVD knows how to keep the surprises and suspense coming and Eulogy was definitely a page-turner. Looking forward to more from the Eagle Elite series!

When I finished Enrage I KNEW Eulogy was going to gut me. I wasn't wrong. Chase, fun, always making everyone laugh, taking what was thrown his way was gone. In his place was a man who was devastated, whose heart was smashed and torn out of his chest. Just reading the beginning of this I was a hot mess. You could feel EVERYTHING Chase was. I hurt for Chase, seriously I HURT for him. When Luciana (Luc) gets thrown into being the attorney for the families she has no idea what she's getting into. She's terrified of Chase with good reason. He just wants her gone but he has no choice to keep her around until she's done. There's twists and turns that kept me guessing, had my mouth dropping open and thinking that thankfully I didn't bite my nails because they would be gone. I have loved this series from the very first book that I read of it. I can't get enough! "As burns this Saint, so burns my soul. Blood In, Blood Out." "I've always heard that souls recognized each other, and I knew in that moment, regardless of his feelings, his anger - mine recognized his. And wanted. Ached. Needed." *Sigh* "What are you doing in two weeks?" "I don't know." Sobbing!

I keep wondering how this author does it but somehow this series gets better and better. Love these characters and the anguish and love they fight for and against constantly. Surprises abound and you can't help but smile at the antics of this crew. Great job! 5 stars.

eview: Since Day 1 I have been following Rachel Van Dyken. I have followed all of her series closely. My favorite series of hers has always been her Eagle Elite series. I don’t know what the draw is, but I know if I am in a reading funk… if I need a pick me up… all I need to do is grab one of the many books in the series and I am good to go. I absolutely love this characters. I couldn't wait for this to come out! I needed it. The saying is Blood In, No Out and its true. Chase has always been one of my favorites in this series. He always brought life, laughter, you knew he was going to have some kind of snarky comment that was just going to make you laugh out loud. Well this book broke me. I could feel the anger that Chase was throwing off. You could feel the animosity he had toward everything and anything. What happened to him truly broke him and he was no longer the fun loving chase that I grew to adore. He lost his spark, he will to live and his goal was to truly submit himself to damnation and he didn’t care how he got there. Nobody could bring him back from his darkness, not even Trace. Mil truly broke him and it was heartbreaking to watch. Well, lets throw Lucianna in there. She is innocent, genuine, and completely lost in the world she has been thrown into. I definitely felt bad for her at time. She has tons of sass and even though there were times she was scared shitless, she was able to hold her own. She had her way of taming the beast and of course that might sound cliché, but its nothing like that. She wanted to look past Chase’s dark temper. She also wanted to do her job and do it well. She is loyal and quiet and as time went on, I absolutely loved her smart attitude. Lucianna is able to do what everyone else has been trying for 6 months, but does it change the outcome of the story? Her sweet demeanor is exactly the opposite of Mil and throws Chase for a loop. She does everything she can to make him look past it all and he does everything he can to run her off, but she is stronger than she looks. I absolutely loved their chemistry. They played off of one another nicely and I loved watching the relationship unfold. When Chase has his mind set on something, he continues on his path. However its little things that Luc does that helps to mold and helps him see the bigger picture. This book caused me to bite off a few nails, gasp, laugh, and cry. I absolutely loved every heart-wrenching minute of it. This novel was all about second chances and it was exactly what Chase needed. Rachel has never failed to impress me in any of her writing. She used this novel to take us to the edge of oblivion and back. I can’t wait to see where Rachel goes from her with this series. You definitely need to read this amazing book. Even if you haven’t read the others which I definitely recommend.

Eulogy by Rachel Van Dyken is book Nine in the "Eagle Elite" series. This is the story of Chase Abandonato and Luciana Smith I have read the previous book but feel you can make this a standalone book if you choose to do so. Chase is on a mission of revenge and he is in it blood, sweat and tears. Chase was once married to Mil De Lange but we learn she betrayed him but she ended up dead. Now Chase is on a mission to kill the De Lange family. It has drove him to not be the person he was before and his fellow friends are trying to do all they can to bring him to his senses in before he goes to far. Luciana is a up and coming lawyer who is was one in a orphanage is shy and somewhat clumsy. Luciana is also innocent and has been trying to help take care of her elderly parents. So when her boss Nikolai tells her that he is offering her a new job that pays allot more with great benefits she takes it. Although Luciana knows there must be a catch she knows it is to good to turn down. Luciana has to relocate and is put to work with Chase. Chase gives her a hard time threatening to kill her until he learns he doesn't have a choice...he still works for the 'family'. So they tell him he has to do his revenge on his own time but while on their time he has to work with Luciana. Luciana and Chase could not be any more different. He is all about killing and she can't even watch a Die hard movie without crying it seems. Really exciting story.. could not put it down!!

Chase loved deeply and completely only to have that love used against him and be betrayed so deeply that six months later his only desire is for revenge. He is no longer the joker of the clan instead he is bitter and withdrawn and will not rest until his vengeance has been levied even if innocents get caught in the crossfire. Luciana received an offer that was too good to refuse so now she is staying at Chase’s home to organize the books. She is innocent and has no idea of the situation she was entering and is both intrigued and leery of her volatile client. Will she be the one to calm his broken soul and allow him to feel and live again or will she be another person destroyed by what he feels he needs to do? I’m not sure how the author has managed to create such compelling characters that even though you should hate them you can’t help but love them. This is not your typical love story as it is so much better and the combination of suspense, twists and emotion make this a story you won’t be able to put down. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Luc. This woman made me like a man I hated, because I love her so much. She showed me the man this guy could be when he was with the right woman. I"m trying not to spoil here, so I'm just going to say that Rachel knocked it out of the park with a mix of danger, sexy, and just a teeny tiny bit of sweet sprinkled in!

4.5☆ First off I would like to say thank you Rachel for not making this book as depressing as Enrage. I've always liked Chase, just not as much as some of the other guys. Eulogy made me feel so much for him. Sometimes I felt so sad for him, other times I was really angry at him for being a jerk, and other times I was happy for him. He truly deserves to find someone who actually cares for him and makes him unbelievably happy after everything he's been through because of Mil. Luciana is the absolute perfect girl for Chase. She is the complete opposite of Mil, meaning she has a huge heart, shows her emotions, and would do anything for the people that she loves. I loved learning about her and reading about all her interactions with Chase, those were always interesting seeing as you never knew how he was going to react. She's a sweet girl and I'm glad that she takes a chance on Chase and helps him to get back to his true self. She's the perfect match for him and they're so cute together. Eulogy sucked me in right away and had me hooked the whole time. I never wanted to put it down, I always wanted to know what was going to happen next. There was a lot of action and surprises towards the end of the book, two in particular that I was definitely not expecting! I really enjoyed Eulogy and all the emotion that was poured into it. I loved the phone calls and texts that Chase exchanges with the other guys, those were hilarious! And of course the family dinners were also a hoot! Eulogy is all I expected and more and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I can't wait for more, I'll never get enough of these guys!

The mafia is dark and dangerous - but when Rachel Van Dyken gets into their minds, she provides us with the heart and soul of La Costa Nostra - FAMILY! ~ Heather, White Hot Reads Ahhhhhh! There isn't going to be anything eloquent about this review, because I've waited until the eleventh hour to write it. Why you ask? Because I'm so in love with the feels that this book gave me, I've searched for the words. Hence the insane brain dump. Eulogy picks up at the end of Enrage. This means we're starting on the edge of a cliff. Praying from the moment we start that we're not going to break out in tears and drown our sorrows in a vat of PB Ice Cream. But alas, RVD saves the tears for later - at least for me they didn't happen in the beginning. I screamed, yelled, typed and erased frantic and crazy messages to RVD and messaged my friends who were reading with me but yet was still frustrated. Because I need more. But that's the way it is. I always want more from the MAFIA. Eulogy is full of twists and turns. There are crazy and unexpected events. Heartbreak and love. Family & friends. It's the mafia, BLOOD IN, NO OUT

Trying to find words to accurately describe my experience while reading Eulogy honestly difficult. Rachel Van Dyken has made it just that, an experience. Instantly I was drawn into the book and I never wanted it to end. I was completely invested and devoured it in nearly one sitting. Rachel Van Dyken owned my heart. As a fan of this series, I was beyond excited to get this story into my hands. My heart fluttered at the thought of finding out what was going to happen next. But once I began reading, my heart was no longer mine. Rachel beat it, ripped it apart and somehow managed to make it whole, all in the experience of her brilliant words in Eulogy. There were times I literally laughed out loud, I cried, and I wanted to get inside and beat the characters myself for making me so frustrated. There were so many twists and turns I never saw coming, but all the while I kept holding on for dear life dying to know what would happen next. Blood In, no out is the motto of the mafia. The family in this story is no different. I have been in love with Nixon, Chase, Phoenix and Tex from the start of this series. The added members in their families, make this an incredible series and among my favorite. I cannot wait to see what Rachel does next with these memorable characters who have wormed their way into my heart. Though there is a sense of closure in this book, there are still so many possibilities to come. I seriously hope the wait is not long. I love this series and need more as soon as possible!
