Faithworks Prayer Journal

The idea of keeping a prayer journal came to me in 1997. I found that I was receiving a lot of prayer requests, and had a difficult time keeping track of the people making the requests, and the details of the prayer requests. I would often forget specific requests, and as a result, would say a general prayer in an attempt not to miss anyone who requested prayer.

I read a book on prayer and observed that the writer kept a prayer journal for all of his prayer requests in notebooks. I realized at that time that the Holy Spirit was speaking to me, to start a prayer journal. After speaking to others, I came to the realization that many people were experiencing the same problem. They were also having difficulty remembering the prayer requests they received. I felt a deep conviction that the Holy Spirit was speaking to me to start a prayer journal that would assist in organizing prayer requests.

After ten years, the idea has never left me. Without a doubt, I know that God has inspired me to follow through with this journal. I know that it’s God’s plan for me to complete this assignment.

I would like to say special thanks to Vikki German, who encouraged me on this journey, prayed for me, and sent me devotionals every day without knowing what God was doing in my life. May God continue to bless her.

My prayer is that all requests recorded in these journals will be answered and souls will be blessed

About the Author

Carol Cater a single mother of five children, lives in Toronto Canada.  Since dedicating her life to Jesus, Carol volunteers with a Correctional Institution, helping those who are incarcerated, in an effort to help them find God. Carol has been working on this Journal for a number of years, and through prayer, a gift from God, it has kept her connected to Him. Carol has faced many challenges and struggles throughout her life. Without God, Carol knows she would not have made it this far. This volume is Carol’s first publication. Inspired by the Holy Spirit and by the many prayer requests she has received, she hopes this journal will be a blessing to Christians around the world, especially those who are prayer leaders and prayer warriors in their churches.

This journal is dedicated to her late grandmother and mother; two women who loved the Lord. They inspired her throughout her life and this journal is a labour of love in their honour and memory
