Overview

The meeting of Dare Borodin and Kristin Olafsson is one that has been foretold by the Japanese fairy tale of Tanabata, the Festival of Stars. In the story, two lovers up among the stars are doomed to meet only once a year. Each year, if circumstances or weather prevent them from getting together, they must wait for the next. Sometimes when the stars shift in the sky, the star lovers are a little farther apart than they should be, and they struggle to reach each other. And reach each other they must. Unless they do so, eventually, the stars will shift away from each other, never to meet again.
If that were to happen, the star lovers will diminish, their lights fading from the luminance of the sky forever. And so, each year, they must try.

About the Author

Eilis Flynn has spent a large share of her life working on Wall Street or in a Wall Street-related firm, so why should she write fiction that’s any more based in our world? She spends her days aware that there is a reality beyond what we can see and tells stories about it. She lives in verdant Washington state with her equally fantastical husband.
