CHAPTER 1
In a place far far away yet in the mind very near, was a land where Music roamed. Above the ground Music glided. The air it called its home. Floating with case far and near but Music's purpose wasn't clear.
The heart of Music pounded sometimes a loud mystic noise, and sometimes a peaceful joy. Shedding soothing waves of vibration music drifted with graceful poise. But one thing kept Music looking down and feeling sad. There was no way to hear or feel the joy and beauty that Music's heart really had.
See this was a time before organized noise was ever even thought of. No joy circulated so the air remained dull. Only Music dreamed happy. Only Music dreamed of using sound for expressing thoughts, feelings, or the simple sound of resting. MUSIC KNEW ... DEEP WITHIN ... MUSIC KNEW that its voice was more valuable than diamonds and gold. And would one day be known as, "The Greatest Story Ever Told!" Music knew that its gift of songs would save souls, and help those lost to look within to find their way home.
Music dreamed BIG dreams. But every time Music got the urge to release a sound Doubt would come around in the form of a huge intimidating storm cloud. Doubt would swoop in spreading a harsh, cold rain of fear all about. Music and it's dreams would cringe and freeze.
No heart rhythms. ... no sound. ... just FEAR. Music could not ... would not push out the beautiful sounds that the world needed to hear. Silent suffering was the price of fear.
Frozen in Doubt's shadow alive but just as well dead, Music muttered to itself, "Enough is enough! It's time to get tough! Time to get tough and call Doubt's bluff." With no Music having ears for hearing would be simply useless.
One bright day while riding the air, with creativity on Music's mind, it saw something special flashing thru the air. Coming closer. And closer. The flashing object was so beautiful Music held its place and stared. "What a wonder!!!" Music muttered. Flashing ... floating ... strange and shining an instrument finally fully appeared. Music muttered, "This is really cool ... But just a little weird."
Music was so excited. Never had it seen anything like this before. Neither Music nor its creativity knew what to do. The instrument just stared back. It wasn't giving a clue.
The longer Music stared at the vision the closer Doubt's cloud creeped over the horizon. Rumbling, it grew and grew and grew. Music jumped into action and did e only thing it knew. With all of its strength and all of its might Music took a deep breath and BLEWWWWW!
The strings on die instrument began to wiggle and dance. POP ... POP ... SLING ... DRAAAANG ... POP ... PINGA ... TWIG. ... TWANG
Music was amazed at how die guitar strings could dance and prance. POP ... POP ... SLING ... DRAAAANG ... POP ... PINGA ... TWIG. ... TWANG.
Doubt was scattered by the sound and retreated back over the horizon hoping it would not be found. As Doubt retreated Music realized its heart was beating very fast and hard, POP ... POP ... SLING ... DRAAAANG ... POP ... PINGA ... TWIG. ... TWANG.
In that moment it became very very clear that the instrument had been sounding the rhythms of Music's heart! Music understood the instrument's singing voice was stronger than any fear! Music thought, "But guitar is now here!"
Sooo ... what now to do? Music casually floated plucking and strumming the strings of the guitar. Music's strumming filled the guitar with sounds in Music's heart, but a feeling lingered. There had to be another part. The guitar gave a smoothly rugged sound that expressed a true Blues art. "But what about the boom and bang I also feel in my heart?"
There needed to be some loud fun noise! Something that rumbles like real thunder that causes things to shake with wonder. "Yes ... A Thunder From Down Under!" Music wished and prayed to the skies above for an instrument to make a sound admired by all and greatly loved.
Where to look now? Music had no idea what to expect.
At that moment the Heavens opened wide and floated down a blessing that left Music stunned, shocked, and surprised. Down came a bowl with a hide tied tight across the top. Two sticks lay at its side.
