Overview

On an ill fated Fourth of July, an unlikely alliance springs up between Ariel, a young gargoyle knight with a penchant for blowing things up, and Vali, a sword wielding, ex-Viking who inspired a number of Old Norse myths, when they find themselves on the trail of the same coven of blood mages.

Originally published on hlfleming.com, this novella is set in the same world as The Gargoyle Legends, and takes place between Devil Water (Book 4) and Manticore Blood (Book 5). It gives a glimpse into the life of Ariel Cinders and shows what she was up to before she joining Eden's fight for her brother's life.
