Corriander Maxwell, born to an unwed mother, fathered by an inhuman father, and ostracized by the town he lives in grows up surrounded by hate and accompanied by a strange snake creature since birth until the day his mother dies of unnatural causes.
After his mother's passing Corriander takes life into his own hands and, with the lessons taught him from his mother, will learn where he belongs in life and to disregard the bigotry and fear of normal humans.

He finds himself in love with an even more evil creature than himself and wonders if what she says is true, that just because you're evil incarnate does not make you evil intentionally.
