First Class Voyage is the 4th book in the First Class Novels adult contemporary romance series by AJ Harmon. When best friends Janie and Katy fell in love with the rich and sexy Lathem brothers Matt & Mark they didn’t realize the new family dynamics they would be sucked into.
Family time takes on a whole new meaning when Maureen, the matriarch of the Lathem clan, decides she wants to celebrate her wedding anniversary by taking the entire family on a Caribbean cruise. She drags her husband, seven adult sons, their significant others, five grandchildren and a mother-in-law onto a floating city in the Caribbean Sea with 3000 other passengers… where insecurities and tension between in-laws begin to surface.
Matt and Janie are still enjoying their happily ever after while Katy struggles to find her place in the large family. Frustrated by Maureen’s constant pressure to transform her 3 year engagement into wedding bells, Katy boards the ship expecting it to be the worst 14 days of her life. Mid-voyage, panic sets in when Janie’s best friend fails to return from a shore excursion with Mark. Remember what happened the last time Katy went missing?
In this book you’ll be introduced to Matt and Mark’s five younger brothers including Paul, a Navy Seal on leave between tours of duty. He’s not excited about being trapped on a boat surrounded by the circus called his family. Is Paul ready to trade in the organized discipline of military life to be a civilian with a wife and family?
First Class Voyage is a light, easy, smile-inducing read that explores love and family in the 21st century.

I guess this might be an introduction to a family series. It was boring - the telling of the story was dull, the character relationships were not interesting, nothing intriguing here.

I am an avid cruiser and love a good romance novel while sailing. While starting this book on a cruise I got to finish it on a beach in Mexico. I love the characters and their story development.

What seemed, at first, to be a travel novel, ended as a delightfully refreshing story, and, I suspect, the foundation of a series of enjoyable stories.

Apparently, this is the "rest of the story" about things that happened in previous books. There is enough description that I could figure out what happened in the previous books. Basic story idea is a good one. That's all I can say, most is straight forward telling what happens next. You are not shown in dialog except rarely. Basically, the Grandparents want to celebrate their anniversary by taking a 2 week cruise with the whole family. The Grandmother is pushy, pushy, pushy through the whole book. She does give the family free time but also directs them to group time. I have been on several cruises and you don't walk in and say table for 17. There is either assigned group seating or free style restaurants that require reservations for 2 let alone 17. She wants to play trivia game and is determined to win. When they lose the first game, she wants to try again, so they play again in the afternoon. They lose again and there is one more game that they finally win. She acts very childish about losing the game. The book describes her as being as happy as a child over the plastic trophy. Finally, her treatment of Katie, who has been engaged to one of her sons for 3 years. She has been hinting, suggesting, outright saying they should not be living together and should get married. On this trip, she is being downright ugly by telling everyone she is not married to my son and rearranging rooms. I think her son should have told her to knock it off some time ago since he really loves Katie. You get what you pay for and this one was free to me.

I read reviews to see if a book is interesting and based on that info I decide if I will purchase it or not. The reviews for this book are a disappointment. I am glad I didn't spend any money on it. The men were spineless, and thought their mother was funny, when in fact she was hurtful, embarrassing, and thoughtless.
