At first glance Fish Story may seem like a simple tale about two guppies, Five and his sister Eleven's struggle to survive in the violent "fish-eat-fish" world into which they were born. About the Author

Joseph E. Scalia Author/Artist/Teacher/Elevator Operator (but not necessarily in that order) Brooklyn born and raised, Joseph E. Scalia taught junior and senior high school English and Creative Writing on Long Island for thirty-three years. He began writing in elementary school, terrible rhyming poems on the bathroom walls and eventually made the move to writing on paper. In his spare time he paints watercolors. And yes, he did operate an elevator at 120 Broadway in Manhattan the summer before he began teaching. You can see all of his work and contact him at josephescalia.com.
