Overview

One fake relationship . . .

Ginny Michaels has always been a good girl and--ever since surviving a school shooting a little over a year ago--hailed a hero. Except she doesn't feel like a hero. She can't even have a one-night stand with sexy Wes Dalton properly. When her big city fling resurfaces in her hometown with an intriguing proposition, she's powerless to resist. A fake relationship is exactly what's needed to keep her small town's matchmakers at bay during the upcoming wedding season. If only her attraction to Wes were as easy to ignore.

Too many real kisses . . .

Wes Dalton doesn't have many regrets, and that includes his night with Ginny. But he's always hoped to strengthen his relationship with his estranged family. When his father's health takes a bad turn, Wes puts his life on hold and moves to the meddling seaside town of Cape Hope. With his barriers in place--and a beautiful woman to help him hold them up--he's prepared for anything. Or so he thinks. Despite his determination to leave as soon as the summer is over, those fake kisses are starting to feel an awful lot like the real thing.

Excellent story! FOUR WEDDINGS AND A BREAK UP grabbed my full attention at the very beginning with good-girl Ginny not being able to take her eyes off the very fine Mr. Dangerous and then following him out the backdoor of the Atlantic City bar for a little something hot & sexy up against the wall in the middle of a lightning storm. I mean WOW! When the down-to-earth, responsible and always realistic Ginny Michaels takes on the dare to go after something she wants for once in her life she does it with gusto! But who could blame her when you're talking about the tall, dark and sex-on-a-stick with the fine bum that is Wes Dalton and when she knows she will never see him again? These two had some irresistible sexual attraction that neither intended to me more than it was, a quick, nearly anonymous, crazy go with the moment hookup. Neither usually did that sort of thing and neither had time for a relationship, but when they found themselves in the same small town surrounded by matchmakers they set upon a plan to help each other out, fake dating. I enjoyed every moment of this story. In fact stayed up half the night to finish this book because I could not put it down. I knew by about 30% in that however the story ended for Wes and Ginny it was not going to be enough. They were wonderful, but they were also surrounded by a cast of characters - family members mostly - who were just as compelling and just screaming for a story of their own. Rachel, TJ, Julie, Jake and Seth all need their own book!! Apparently Faith has found her man, so she's set, but she still deserves a shout out because she was a lark! I have never been so relieved to see a series name added to a title in my life! Back to Wes and Ginny, they were wonderful and so perfect together. It was hilarious reading about them trying to keep their hands to their selves and not give into the electricity sparking between them. All in the name of keeping the emotions out of their fake dating and maintain a friendship. The dialogue was witty, both had a quick and teasing tongue (which I love), and both were truly kind. Good people just trying to keep from getting caught in the crossfires of heartbreak that surely comes when you give heart to someone. The pacing made story was well done, the writing consistent, and the mystery just enough to add to, but not overwhelm the love story developing. 5 stars. ~Complimentary copy provided by author in exchange for a honest review.
