Free Wi-Fi

Ted, the main character of this short story works in the computer industry. When he starts getting ill he makes a link to his long time exposure to Wi-Fi and sets out to understand the effects of Wi-Fi radiation on humans. He is shocked when he realises the original milatry uses of microwaves and damage being caused by Wi-Fi and tries to escape the effects by moving into the remote countryside but new phone masts are being built all the time and he realises that he needs to stay mobile if he is to be able to stay outside of the Wi-Fi zone. Ted quits his job in the computer industry and sets out to share his knowledge with the public who react violently against Wi-Fi and telecommunications when they understand the carcinogenic effects. However the industry and the mainstream media collude to discredit Ted by falsely accusing him of various deeds. In time the furore dies down and life goes back to normal as people forget the damage being caused by Wi-Fi and conclude that Ted was a nut-job, but Ted continues to share his message with those who will listen and uncovers the hidden sinister uses of Wi-Fi.

About the Author

I hope my writing inspires change. If you enjoy reading my art then please write a review to support the artist. If you donate then you are helping to bring an alternative social system into reality. We can lift each other from the mundane world of wage slavery onto a higher plane where the personal art of each person is valued. The world can be changed if we change it. Words are powerful because they enable us to create and share ideas which take on form and become reality. With very little effort, just a raising of consciousness we could change the world in which we live, change begins with perception, followed by interaction and a different reaction to the existing paradigm. But most of all change requires that more people recognise the oppressive nature of the system in which we live and choose to opt out.The purpose of my writing is to raise awareness of our complicity in maintaining a social system which supports a minority elite, trashes the environment and oppresses the majority. I opted out in 2003 and live a simplistic low tech life. My Degree in Peace Studies from the acclaimed Peace Department at the University of Bradford, UK brought about the necessary awareness to realise the actions I needed to take. I have now found a way to live which creates time and reduces my personal impact on other people and the environment too. I choose to live in small, semi- self sufficient dwellings. I adopted the term "Gypsea" to describe my personal life style choice, which has been based on boats and around the sea since 2003. Nomadism is a low impact way of living; moving allows the environment time to recover and nomads are inherently non-materialistic.The name "wildhope" under which I publish my books, refers to the potential for survival offered to us by the wilderness. It is only in a state of harmony with nature that humankind has a future.
