About the Author

John writes poetry and prose on the search for inner freedom and social transformation.

Born in New Zealand, for most of his childhood in the 1960s he lived in Samoa with his family. Later he returned to New Zealand, and subsequently spent periods living in Australia and Singapore, before returning to New Zealand. In 2013 he moved to China.

Over the years, John has worked in various jobs related to writing and publishing, but recently he took up teaching English to Chinese adults and teenagers. His four children by a previous marriage, and one stepson, are grown and making their way in the world. He has two grandchildren.
