About the Author

Vincent Carruthers, an environmental consultant, is a registered professional scientist specialising in amphibians and wetlands. He has published widely on natural science, including several books, among them The Wildlife of Southern Africa; South African Frogs – a Complete Guide (with Neville Passmore) and A Complete Guide to the Frogs of Southern Africa (with Louis du Preez). Louis du Preez, a professor of zoology at North-West University, holds a PhDin amphibian parasitology. He heads the African Amphibian Conservation Research Group. Books that he has written or co-authored include A Complete Guide to the Frogs of Southern Africa, and Field Guide to the Frogs and Toads of the Free State.
