About the Author

Matt Hyde is a former Corrections Sergeant, SERT Commander, and Mobile Field Force Commander with over 250 operational hours leading high-risk cell extractions, riot control operations, and high-risk and high-profile transports. He served as an Infantryman in the Army National Guard, bringing battlefield discipline and tactical leadership into the correctional environment.

With nearly a decade of experience in correctional leadership and training, Matt has helped shape the next generation of officers through mentoring, policy development, and frontline supervision. He is passionate about elevating the standard of leadership within the profession, both on and off the post.
