Overview

I have a story to tell you! It is a very familiar story to me because it is my story. Please let me take you back with me in time so you can see how God changed my life. My life was shattered and empty until I met Jesus. As you read the following pages, you will see how sin can break a family and individuals. You will also read how God can take not just one but three children, whose lives were broken, and make them apart of His family and service.

About the Author

This is my story...

From junkyards in Arkansas & a life of alcoholism & abandonment to an ordered life in Michigan & a life of hope & love. This journey of 2 boys written from the view point of the older brother, Hal, is an inspiration to all who think God is far away & doesn't care. He cared for 2 junkyard feral boys who cried out to Him in hopelessness. He gave them a stable family with love & discipline. He drew them to Him. Turning their would have been "death sentence" lives into a life of hope, filled with the love of Christ Jesus.

This is a great inspirational story of a rags to riches for the spirit. A boy & his brother raised in poverty and junk yards in Arkansas by an alcoholic parent for the 1st 1/2 of his young life. Then early in his teen years he was moved to his aunt & uncle's home in Michigan where he learned of God's love for him. His story continues and follows the struggles he has had during his ministry as a pastor.

I worked with this man for six years at the Christian based preschool I was the director of. He is kind, soft spoken, and everything comes from his heart.

Have you ever wondered how God can work wonders in your life? Have you ever known hardship? Have you felt His presence? Come along on the journey of Pastor Hal Phillips and see what God has done for him; how He has blessed one man, so he can be a blessing to others. Through both triumphs and tragedies, God’s love shines through the life of Pastor Hal. Some preachers only preach the faith. Pastor Hal Phillips lives his faith. Living in poverty for the first 13 years of his life, with little or no discipline, lonely and afraid, the outcome for this “streetwise” kid could have been so different. This is a story of prayer, of God’s grace, of Christ’s redeeming power: for Hal, for Eddie, for you, for anyone. I highly recommend "From the Door of an Orphanage: The Hal Phillips Story" -- may it bless you as it has me.

FROM THE DOORS OF AN ORPHANGE by PHILLIPS: This narrative is an real life account of the life of Pastor Harold (Hal) Phillips. The author writes in the first person. It is easy for the reader to feel he is in the presence of the writer while reading the story. It depicts the Pastors life from his earliest childhood to the present day. While reading the book I was privileged to share in the hardships, joys, defeats, triumphs and sorrows of the author. It is a mystery, intrigue and love story all rolled into one. I found this book to be a truly inspirational work with passages I believe that will be helpful to many readers. I highly recommend this book. R.C. Smith
