Overview

"To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? Saith the Holy One."
From the Book of Prophet Isaiah chapter 40 verse 25.

No one living or dead dare make such a declaration. If by any chance somebody does, I am sorry for them because they only have one life and the breath of that life is not even their own to control. For the Most High declare: "Keep silence before me, O islands; and let the people renew their strength: let them come near; then let them speak: let us come near together to judgment" (the Book of Prophet Isaiah chapter 41 verse 1.)

Psalm17:3 "Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress."

A man sat under a tree and continued to look at the rope in his hands. In five minutes that rope will complete the circle of his life. He looked at the tree and touched it. He said aloud, "You tree, you will soon have a place for me in your long record." He looked at himself and said, "It is time to meet your maker." Finishing the cigarette in his hands he stood up, and again said, "It is time to meet your maker." As he prepared and adjusted the rope there was a sudden strike of lighting and large thunders bolts hit he sky above him. He was petrified. Just then it began to rain. The rain was so dense that it beat on him like small lashings. As he struggled to get on the tree the tree branches heaved to the right and left and the small branches whipped out at him. It was at this particular time that he became curious at his efforts to even kill himself. He suddenly began to think that he never expected it to rain. Indeed, there was no sign in the clouds that gave a hint of this intense rain. Precipitously, he comprehended that his life was not his own. That if he took his life, he would have to face the God who sent the lighting, thunder and rain.
Perhaps it is preferable to go back and face the consequences of his action. Taking his life this way is another crime that he does not know or understand the consequences. He dropped the rope and walked into the police station to surrender himself. He was informed that the other conspirators have reported and even given their statements implicating him.
It was a case of fraud. He stood alone and remembered the good times when he had a wife. When the case against him became intense she separated from him. He did not tell anyone what he attempted to do. He recognized without doubt that it was not by his power or might that he abandoned the evil mission, but the grace of God who sees him.

This man served fifteen years in prison and returned to become a great evangelist. He may not be known by you but he specialized in visiting the nooks and corners of places not so popular. During this time he married, had children and lived a much fulfilled life. As he lay on his bed preparing to meet the Lord, one of his sons said, "Daddy don't go – how will life be without you?" He looked up, smiled and said, "Son, watch your mouth for from it comes power. I have served my time and it is time for my crown." He closed his eyes as in peaceful sleep and was gone.
