Gateway to the East
Was born in 1951 in a small town
in Central North Carolina. I was
raised on a small farm, but since times
were hard, both of my parents worked
in town during the week. I saved
enough money to go to college when
I graduated from High School and
graduated from NC State University.
After graduating from College, I
joined the US State Department in
Washington, DC. I worked there for
3-4 years during the tenure of Henry
Kissinger.
After this, I returned to North
Carolina and started my own lumber
business, which I ran for approximately
20 years. The major emphasis of my business shifted to import-export
about 10 years ago, and as a result moved to my new home of Charleston,
SC. This had been a dream since I had visited the town as a teenager.
Have a wonderful family and 9 grandchildren.
