About the Author

Patricia Mullin is the youngest of four children who was always tagging along trying to keep up with her faster, bolder siblings; inevitably she got left behind. Patricia was one of the last generations of children free to roam, get filthy and form unlikely friendships with local characters. During her childhood she benefited from the level of boredom and isolation rarely experienced by children today; within that space she discovered the creative uses for adversity.

Patricia writes novels, editorial and short fiction. 'Gene Genie' was first published in 2005 by a small independent press. Patricia trained at Central/St Martins in art and design: she went on to enjoy a successful career as a textile designer and illustrator and has exhibited widely. She graduated in 2007 from the Writing the Visual MA at Norwich University College of the Arts. This remarkable course, a fusion of writing and visual art, was devised by the award winning poet, George Szirtes.
