About the Author

Dr. John Sailhamer has served on the translation committees for two versions of the Book of Genesis. He holds a Ph.D. in Semitics from UCLA and a Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary. Dr. Sailhamer has taught at Bethel Seminary and Philadelphia College of Bible, and has served as professor of Old Testament and Semitic languages at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He was scholar in residence at Northwestern College in Roseville, Minnesota and concurrently professor of Old Testament at Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon Most recently, he has taught Old Testament and Hebrew at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina, and then at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, Southern California campus in Brea. He is the author of over a dozen books, the last being the Meaning of the Pentateuch.
