I have been very lucky to have come across Vivian Winslow's series, The Glided Flower. I have not just read it once. But twice in this past month. Mind blowing. Not just reading it twice, but her books. With each turn of the pages, I wanted to slowly read each word to draw out every little detail of what happens to Lily. Well, besides the cheating parts. You just get angry about that. Have you read a book that makes you feel what the character is feeling? That is great writing. And I believe Vivian did just that. Although I wish I felt all of Lily's adventures, I can only read and imagine. There are so many fascinating characters in the book, it is an over load in my brain! I can't help the smirk I am wearing just thinking about Rio. What a vacation. Can we consider it a staycation now? Whatever people, read it and you will understand. My rating? You will have to wait till Friday till I give my overall rating for the series. For now I have included one of my favorite scene's in the book. And a taste of Rio.

Lily Baron didn't expect to walk in on her twin sister Dahlia screwing her fiance on the eve of their wedding. Lily's mother is all about appearances and can't understand why Lily is cancelling the wedding. Lily goes on her  planned honeymoon amid protests to her going. Lily discovers that temptation comes in many forms but doesn't make her any less tempted. Will Lily forgive her sister? Can Lily find some happiness in her life? Your answers await you in Gilded Lily. I completely hated both the mother and sister sight unseen. Lily's fiance needs to learn how to keep it in his pants. I think for Lily this is growing experience that none of us really wants to experience but do anyway. Lily stepping out of her shell shined the light on her true colors in the end. I look forward to more from this author in the future.

Vivian Winslow’s “Gilded Lily” is an attention-grabbing first tale in her Gilded Flower Series. It’s very much a cross between “Sex and the City” and “Under the Tuscan Sun.” There are several different sexy males in this one. Each sex sesh is a little steamier than the last. It’s a quick read, so be ready to read the next installment.

Gilded Lily is the first in a series of three novellas written by author Vivian Winslow.  This short story is a attempt to convey a woman's betrayal and subsequent attempt at freedom, and sexual redemption.  Although there was a promising storyline, the pros mixed tense made it a difficult read.   The Heroine of the book, Lily, was betrayed by her fiancé and twin sister.  After choosing to call off the wedding and disowning her sister, Lily decides to take her would be honeymoon to Rio alone.  Although anyone can sympathize with that kind of rejection and hurt, the characters were not necessarily an investment that the reader could make.  There was not enough depth created in each characters actions and responses in the book.  An example of this is Lilly’s reaction when her mother said all New York‘s society followed an unwritten rule of infidelity including her father.  The only passive aggressiveness you see here is her going to Rio alone. Even the steamy sexual encounters fell flat. They were not hot or engaging enough to keep the reader involved in the story.  The story line was anti-climactic and predictable at times.  Since this was a sexual revolution for Lilly, her journey should have been an enticing, heart pounding, erotic one.  Instead she just looks like a lost soul who is trying to find who she is after losing her Prince Charming.     Overall Rating:  3 Rockin’ ¿¿¿ Hero: 3 stars Heroine: 3 stars Plot: 3 stars Steam Level: 3 stars Cliffhanger:  Yes Would I recommend this book: Yes.  This is a book for those that know what heartbreak feels like.  It shares the journey of one woman and her search for self. Would I recommend this author: Yes.  Ms. Winslow understands her genre and I will enjoy reading her next book in the series. ***Received an ARC of this book from the Author in exchange for an honest review***

Quick and sexy read. I am typically a tough critic when novellas are under 100 pages, but Lily's story kept me flipping the pages. Perfect, sexy and light beach read. Lily was going to marry Jack until she walked in on him and her twin sister Dahlia in bed the day before her wedding. Her world comes crashing down in an instant and the best way to escape her pending vows that were interrupted is to go on her honeymoon...solo. This trip ends up being one that changes Lily in a good way. Enter Marcelo, the masseur. OOoo la la don't we all need one of these on call? Marcelo awakens something deep within Lily, her sex drive. This sex drives leads her to Gustavo the "Brazilianaire" that keeps popping up during her trip. She cannot shake him from her mind. She needs more, wants more, but her trip is flipped on its axis when she is called home early with an emergency. Will this emergency change everything? Will Lily be able to get Gustavo out of her mind? Will Lily forgive her sister or Jack? I cannot wait to find out the answers in Calla Lily.

Written as a combined review with The Gilded Lily for The Reading Cafe 14 Jun 14 3.5 out of 5 for this reader folks! Again, love this about The Reading Cafe ... another author discovered that I likely would of never encountered if it were not for this site. Things get steamy in this highly anticipated sequel to Gilded Lily. REVIEW Picking up right where Gilded Lily left off, we meet Lily at the hospital after her father has had a stroke. More confident in her own skin, Lily confronts her sister about ruining her relationship to Jack. When a bigger truth comes out, Lily decides to forgive her twin .. but not forget. She has to now focus on becoming an acting CEO to her father's company. With the assist of Ben (a trusted high ranking employee of her dad's), Lily starts to put in long hours. When Lily has a "chance" encounter with another hottie (Todd) she is beginning to feel on top of the world. Enter once again ... Gustavo! Lily cannot seem to resist her hot Brazilian and once again indulges her fancy ... although it is more fire than fancy .. LOL When a seemed deception once again come knocking, Lily does not hesitate and reacts quickly. We are left wondering what her future will hold! Overall, this is an engaging series. The sex scenes are super HOT and I am all over loving Lily coming into her own and getting in touch with her inner tramp. I love that she is building her sexual confidence and that it is spilling over into her professional life. After deception she opted to fight back instead of pulling the "poor me" card .. hard not to respect that. I do find for such a short read there is much story crammed in and I would love to read some more back story on our lead characters. Some of the writing tended to be choppy at times and a little hurried but in saying that I was completely into the story and enjoyed the easy read. I will most certainly be interested in continuing this series and seeing where Vivian Winslow will be taking Lily! HAPPY READING! :)

Gilded Lily was a short read about Lily who was betrayed in the worst way possible: caught her sister in bed with her fiance. She decided to honeymoon alone to Rio and gains an experience she won't soon forget. I enjoyed Gilded Lily but felt like it was too short. The sex scenes were average and not very steamy for me. Overall, it was an okay book.

A fast paced read full of emotion as one woman tries to find happiness and love. There is plenty of seduction, lust and steamy sex. There is also lots of confusion as Lily tries to deal with deceit and family disloyalty. Looking forward to more in Lily's story. Received copy for review/

This is a quick, sexy read about Lily Baron, a young woman who discovers a new side to herself after she suffers the ultimate betrayal the night before her wedding. While on a solo trip to Rio, Lily experiences a sexual awakening in the form of Marcelo, a handsome masseur who works at the resort. What's more is that Lily has managed to capture the attention of Brazillionaire Gustavo de Lima, who is not shy in his pursuit of Lily. Only issue is that Gustavo is married. Despite her resolve, she succumbs to her desire and agrees to spend two days with Gustavo at his fazenda; those two days are cut short with an unexpected arrival. I liked the chemistry between Lily and Gustavo, and while I don't condone adultery, sometimes the heart wants what it wants (or maybe other body parts just want it?) Either way, this is a good read and I can't wait to see what happens in the next book.

Gilded Lily was a sultry, short read! Betrayed in the worst way possible by her sister and fiancé, Lily finds herself venturing off to exotic Brazil, the destination where she was supposed to bask in wedded bliss, to wallow in her sorrows. However, as fate would have it, she meets a sexy Brazillionaire, Gustavo de Lima, and after some push and pull, the two find themselves embarking in a steamy love affair. The only catch is: Gustavo is a married man! As their forbidden romance unwinds, Lily finds herself delving deeper and deeper for this sensuous cheater. Is it meant to be? And with her becoming what she’s always feared, the other woman, will history repeat itself and find herself heart broken in the end?  A very steamy and enjoyable read!! I can’t wait to see what happens between Lily and Gustavo next!
