About the Author

Jon Morgan, one of the few journalists in the nation to cover the business of sports, writes for the Baltimore Sun. His investigative reporting has included topics such as the value of franchises to cities, trends in sports labor relations, and the effect that stadium economics have on the relationships between cities, fans, and sports teams.

Morgan holds a BS in Journalism from the University of Illinois, and was a Fellow at the University of Maryland's Knight Center for Specialized Journalism where he studied finance and the business of sports.

Morgan has won a number of awards for his writing and investigative journalism, including top rankings from the Associated Press Sports Editors and the Newspaper Guild's Frank C. Porter Award for Labor and Business Reporting.

He lives in Baltimore, Maryland, with his wife and three children.
